Do you think it is important for an artist to have a speciality? We should all take photographs because we love doing so and our imagery is dictated by our personal experiences and visions. A speciality tends to show through in every photographer’s portfolio. It is how we work; we take pictures, look for patterns and expand those patterns. Specialities can change over time though as new patterns emerge. In the beginning I thought I was a landscape photographer, but now there is more figurative work in my portfolio. Do you think your speciality will change over time? Yes. Life moves in a forward direction and as I change so too will my work. © Clayton Bastiani http://www.claytonbastiani.com/
