We notice that you have ventured into
videography as part of your commercial
portfolio. How has that journey been for you,
the learning curve etc?
My move across, or the adjustment into
moving pictures came in 2004. One of my
jeans clients in Indonesia had asked me if I
would be interested in directing a series of 4
television commercials. I had been shooting
stills campaigns for them over a period of 10
years and completely understood their brand
and direction. I have a great relationship with
this client and this was going to go to the next
level by being entrusted with a production
budget of US$ 600,000.00 !!
I worked closely with a Creative Director
in Singapore who conceptialised the story
boards and style. For me, whilst feeling I was
about to jump out of a plane and hoped all my
knowledge in preparing my parachute was
going to ensure a safe landing !
I thoroughly enjoyed the whole process in
working with a large crew to achieve the
desired end results.
