Vishwanathan Anand who has been a
World Champion 5 times over, lost the
current world championship to Magnus
Carlson. The final consisted of a maximum of 12 matches between Anand and Carlson. The winner had to get over 6
points to win. The riveting final ended in the 11th match itself, within 45 moves. Carlson retained his previous title of the
World Champion, and Anand lost this time again.

What is the International Tennis Premiere league?
The International Tennis Premiere League is a tournament amongst
teams from 4 cities/Countries:
1) Micromax Indian Aces
2) Singapore Slammers
3) Manila Mavericks
4) UAE Royals
The format of the game is very different from other tournaments.
Scoring
Each match consists of:
1. Five (5) sets
2. Each set is played first to six (6) games with a 4 minute shoot out at 5‐all.
3. No ad scoring applies for each game and each game won counts as one (1) point for the teams total.
Set Format
Each match features five (5) sets:
1. Men's Singles
2. Women's Singles
3. Mixed Doubles
4. Men’s Doubles
5. Men’s Legends Singles
The home team decides the order of play. The team line up is given to the umpire 45 minutes before the match starts.
Match Winner
The team that wins the most games accumulated from all five sets wins the match; if a match is tied after five sets the Super Shoot Out
determines the match winner. Team Standings: A team that wins a match receives 4 points
For the losing team:
1. A team that wins more than 20 game points wins 2 points
2. A team that wins more than 10 game points wins 1 point
