Solar Impulse 2 or SI2 landed in Ahmedabad on March 12th, and then took off to reach Varanasi on 18th March.
SI2 has more than 17,000 solar cells built into its wings and hopes to promote Green Energy as it attempts to
travel around the world without refuelling.
The flight took off from UAE and with Bertrand Piccard and Andre Borschberg, the two pilots and Founders,
who will fly around the world in 5 months, with no fuel; and of course, rising up to technical, human &
operational challenges.
India in the Semis
Last week, India particularly performed well with a victory against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh. Aginst Zimbabwe,
India had to chase a score of 288, which it covered in 48.4 overs, at a loss of 4 wickets; thus winning by 6
wickets.
Against Bangladesh, the match was thrilling but an easy win, as India made 302 for 6 in 50 overs, which was
remarkable since they had lost 4 wickets under 100 runs. However, Bangladesh scored just 193 in 45 overs, and
the match was a clear win.
Now, India will have to face Australia, since Pakistan lost against Australia in the quarterfinals. This match will
happen on 26th March, and will be one of the most sought after ones yet, since the Australian team is
exceptionally strong.
