Nepal has adopted a new constitution. A constitution is a book
of laws. Nepal’s constitution outlines the country as a secular
country where any religion can be freely practiced, divided into
seven parts.
Indians Make it Big at the Google Science Fair
Rambo and Pranks have got really inspired reading about the Google Science Fair Winners and their achievements.
In fact, Rambo and Pranks plan to participate themselves when they are old enough. The Google Science Fair, an
online science competition, started in 2011, and is sponsored by Google, Lego, Virgin Galactic, National Geographic and Scientific American. The competition allows 13-18 years old students to participate from across the globe.
They have to formulate a hypothesis, perform an experiment, and present their results.
The grand prize for this year was awarded to the 16-year-old Oliva Hallisey, from the United States, for developing a
fast, cheap, and stable test for the Ebola virus. The test will give easy-to-read results in less than 30 minutes, much
before someone is even showing symptoms.
However, Lalita Prasida Sripada Srisai, from Odisha has made India proud by winning the ‘Community Impact
Award’ at the prestigious Google Science Fair. She won the award for developing a mechanism to purify water using
a Corn Cob. Yes, the same Corn cobs you roast and eat.
Other awardees include Dipika Kurup from the United States, who was awarded the National Geographic Explorer
award for creating a project to remove multiple varieties of toxins from water.
Anurudh Ganesan of the United States won the Lego education builder award for developing an eco-friendly system
to transport injections without using Ice or Electricity.
Further, Girish Kumar from Singapore, won the Google Technologist award for creating RevUP, which automatically
generates gap-fill multiple choice questions from online texts. Watch this Video to see the Winners
