Maggi and the Ban You would have noticed many states like UP, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, and Maharashtra have banned our favourite snack, Maggi instant noodles because of it has harmful substances like Lead and Monosodium Glutamate (MSG). These are extremely bad for your health and can cause major health problems. High Lead content and MSG has been particularly found in the tastemaker sachet within the noodles pack. Since the tastemaker is what lends the flavour to the noodles, the noodles are nothing without it. Excessive lead in food is bad for the heart, bones, intestines, kidneys, the reproductive and nervous systems. It interferes with the development of the nervous system and is therefore particularly toxic to children, causing potentially permanent learning and behaviour disorders. Symptoms include abdominal pain, confusion, headache, anaemia, irritability, and in severe cases it can also cause death. MSG on the other hand, is a taste enhancer and can cause a Headache., Sweating, Facial pains, Numbness, tingling or burning in the face, neck and other areas, Rapid, fluttering heartbeat, Chest pain, and discomfort. So it’s best to stay away from Maggi till the controversy is solved and it becomes safe to eat again. STRAWBERRY MOON On June 2, 2015, the moon was positioned exactly opposite to the Earth and the Sun. But what is interesting about that? The fact that this moon was slightly pink in colour. This phenomenon is called the Strawberry Moon. The phrase Strawberry Moon dates back to the Native Americans, who would give a unique name to each month's first full moon. June’s full moon is called the Strawberry Moon because the short season during which strawberries can be harvested happens in June. Since strawberries are not indigenous to Europe, Europeans call it the Rose moon, while other cultures named it the hot moon for the beginning of the summer heat.
