The Young Chronicle December 26th, 2014 Movie Review of PK After a long time has an interesting film come out from the Indian Film Industry. PK is one of a kind, but not comparable to what Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra have created in the past. Broadly speaking, it is the story of an alien who enters Earth and tries to make sense of the differences between Hindus, Muslims, Sardars, and Christians. Essentially, it is a view of what India would look like, to a completely new person. It brings about hilarious differences between Hindus, Muslims, Christians, and Sikhs and shows how silly some of our ways and forms of worshipping God are. The movie calls the priests in temples, churches, mosques and gurudwaras, managers of god, and makes us realize how silly some of the things that they tell us are. Overall, we love the courage of the film makers and the message they put across. But the songs could have been shorter, and the humour could have had more punch. Aamir’s acting was pretty cool, and so was Anushka’s. Boman Irani seemed pretty out of place though. Thankfully the movie wasn’t boring and made some sense. One could easily overlook some flaws the film had, because it was a fairly good attempt. 3 Good Governance Day! This is Ex. Prime –Minister Atal Bihari Vajpyee’s birthday is a day of great pride for the BJP. Hence the party is celebrating this day as Good Governance Day. When you read more about Mr. Vajpyee, on page 6, you will know that he was a good leader and that is why good governance day is being celebrated on his birthday. To observe his birthday, the BJP members devoted an hour to cleanliness. In fact, this time around ma ny BJP members went to the places they had won elections from and started various cleanliness drives. Modi believes that Vajpyee had "exceptional governance abilities” which should be recognized, and there was no better a way than to do it by celebrating Good Governance Day. This day coincides with Christmas, which makes this day very important.
