The Wykehamist
they belong in holes” to me in Maths! The encounter did have a happy outcome though, as it just so happened that they were right next to Badger’ s house. Let me tell you, if I thought Toad was well cast, it had absolutely nothing on Max Henderson’ s( G, 2024-) Badger— you just couldn’ t help but wish you were friends with Badger in real life. I would argue that he’ s one of the school’ s most entertaining actors( need I remind you of Billy Bones), and it certainly made me happy to see him in a starring role. Our friends told him about Toad’ s dangerous obesession with cars, and so, he sprung in to save the day.
Now, with Toad having been placed in a hospital until he was cured of this exceptional malaise, we received an image that, shall we say, has stuck in my memory— DEP in a female nurse outfit. I can only imagine the pitch Eva and Anna Matthews, costume-, set- and props- director,( G, 2024-), must have come up with. Having convinced Rat that he was dying, George simply sat and gazed smugly out to the audience, a moment that once again encapsulated his incredible acting chops— I am sure that it will not be long before he snatches up another starring role in QEII. This piece of trickery led to the absolutely harebrained scheme of his, to steal the car of miste … sorry, missus Amir Brannigan( G, 2024-) and her husband. This landed him in front of a judge, where Toad went on to make a mountain out of a molehill by saying the Judge( co-director Anna) had a big nose. A highlight in this sequence was the humourous back-and-forth about whether a weasel was just that, or in fact a cow, a position the Wild Wooders’ defence desperately maintained.
Now behind bars, Toad used his simply awful flirting to attract the Gaoler’ s daughter, Catherine Brunt( G, 2024-), before bribing the Washerwoman, Lucas Milligan( G, 2021-), to swap clothes with him. Then ensued a getaway sequence on a painted Thomas the Tank Engine and a spat with a bargewoman. One high-adrenaline adventure later, our antihero arrived back at Badger’ s house, where the cat was let out the bag about how his not-so-humble abode had been taken over by the Wild Wooders, a thought so terrible to bear that a daring plan was hatched to claim it back once and for all.
We then saw a set of rat-arsed weasels, foxes, ferrets and stoats singing a song about Toad( it’ s still stuck in my head!) before Chief revealed that they had brought the value of the house down so much so
