DESIGN & ARCHITECTURE

The Home and Heart of ABI Interiors- ABI INTERIORS-

Certain spaces announce themselves quietly. ABI Interiors’ new flagship on Goswell Road— conceived in partnership with Conran & Partners and open throughout Clerkenwell Design Week— is one of them: unhurried, precise, and entirely sure of itself.
Opening its doors during Design Week, the showroom marks a significant moment in ABI Interiors’ journey from its Australian roots to an assured presence at the heart of London’ s design quarter. The brand has long been known for its considered approach to brassware, tapware, basins, showers, and hardware— products built as much for longevity as for beauty, and backed by a 25-year warranty that speaks to the conviction behind them. Here, in Clerkenwell, that conviction finally has a home.“ This space embodies everything we believe in: accessible luxury, thoughtful simplicity, and design that feels effortless,” says Mark Poulain, Commercial Director at ABI Interiors.“ Every detail has intent— it’ s a reflection of how we design, how we collaborate, and how we want people to experience ABI.”
Conran & Partners approached the project not as a retail commission but as an exercise in hospitality.“ The overall design concept was to blend the welcoming and the comfortable alongside the informative and the flexible,” says Simon, Partner at Conran & Partners.“ It wants to be unique, sociable, and it wants to be somewhere you want to return to.” The result unfolds across two levels, anchored by a dramatic double-height void at the entrance—
an architectural feature that became a driver of the entire spatial concept, creating a sense of arrival and theatre before a single product comes into view.
On the ground floor, distinct zones draw on deeply residential references— kitchen, bathroom, living space— each with its own material story. Brassware catches the light alongside considered basin and shower pairings; hardware details reveal themselves slowly, the way they would in a well-appointed home.“ We took the core palette from ABI’ s products and existing showrooms and dialled it up slightly, without moving away from their brand values,” says Amy Blight, Senior Designer at Conran & Partners.“ Spaces designed to feel like a kitchen or dining room genuinely read that way, helping visitors imagine the products in real-life contexts.” Below, a high-density gallery allows for deeper, more focused exploration of the full range— the home, and the heart, of ABI Interiors.
For Poulain, the showroom is more than a new address.“ The space is more than taps and basins— it’ s an experience. It’ s where design, light, and conversation come together.”
