Fire and Form: In Situ & Partners Shapes GYU + bar by Miyoshi
- GYU + BAR-
In Situ & Partners designed GYU + bar by miyoshi, which opened on 10 February at Lee Garden One, a landmark retail and office destination in the heart of Causeway Bay. A Japanese-French bistro guided by renowned Kyoto masters, the 80-seat restaurant is built around the concept of premium beef and woodfire techniques.
Rooted in material purity and the ritual of flame, the restaurant’ s culinary philosophy has directly informed the architectural code. Measured geometry and a precisely articulated material palette create an immersive framework grounded in continuity and controlled movement.
Navigating the Ensō The 4,100-square-foot restaurant occupies two separate units on the fourth floor, divided by a public corridor leading to the building’ s circular atrium. Rather than disguising this interruption, the design team embraced it, transforming a spatial constraint into the project’ s central gesture.
