Guests will be welcomed into the grand elegance of L ’ Atelier with it ’ s newly created bar area at the entrance , which leads into the open restaurant area , seating 74 diners . To the left is the sweeping marble countertop which puts the chefs centre stage , a signature feature of all the original Joël Robuchon restaurants where the open kitchen format was pioneered . The colour palette harks back to the Covent Garden L ’ Atelier with red and black accents , modernised to suit the new location and audience . Soft scarlet seating and subtle warm lighting invites diners to enjoy L ’ Atelier Robuchon through day and night ; from long lunches through to celebratory dinners and drinks in the bar alongside live music .
L ’ Atelier ’ s Head Sommelier Neomie Favrat has curated an exceptional wine list with strong French and old world elements to complement the classical flavours of the food . Her aim is to champion small family owned vineyards that produce some the best wines in the world . Her pride and joy is a Champagne list of almost exclusively small producers such as Chartogne- Taillet , Egly-Ouriet and Emmanuel Brochet , with guests having the option of up to 40 by-the-glass wines to sample , ranging from £ 9 to £ 195 . L ’ Atelier will be one of the only restaurants in London serving Petrus on Coravin , an excellent opportunity to try this exceptional wine by the glass .
L ’ Atelier ’ s reincarnation is focusing on a stellar bar menu that incorporates elements from the kitchen and , for the first time , welcomes guests to the bar area to enjoy a newly launched programme of live music well into the evening . The plush new bar area towards the entrance of L ’ Atelier invites guests for a more relaxed drink , accompanied by food if desired , but always with the perfect service which goes as standard with all Robuchon restaurants . Heading up the drinks offering is Renaud De Bosredon Combrailles who most recently ran Louie in Covent Garden , coincidentally on the site of the original L ’ Atelier Robuchon . Renaud has created an outstanding and considered menu of cocktails , with flavours including tomato and basil infused Campari , hay sake and a vodka infused with pastry from Robuchon ’ s Boulangerie in Acton . Key to the list will be non-alcoholic options that meet the high standards of the list as a whole .
To create a distinct night-time offering , L ’ Atelier will showcase a changing roster of DJs and live musicians to provide the perfect backdrop for the new bar area . The bar at L ’ Atelier will be open until midnight Monday to Saturday and 11:30pm on Sunday , serving Mayfair locals and London residents excellent drinks in a cosy and atmospheric lounge area .
