Greetings Willie Techers !
Things are really popping as I write this . The big hurricane just ransacked a lot of Florida , but Paul B and Jake G seem to have come out of it without too much damage . I am heading down there for a show in early November and Paul is setting up some fun stuff for us to do as I crash at his house . We are going to try and stop in and see Jake / Jack Giaccio . And I hear Mickey Cicconni might have a place in Florida as well as one Bob Hammaker ( pardon my spelling of names … I am in Minnesota and don ’ t have my yearbook with me .)
Florida ! We need a reunion down there . Did you know Paul is retired for over 6 years ... and do you know what he retired from ? Not a power plant , he only did that for a few years . ( Just ask Howie Adams .) Paul worked most of his career for AN AIRLINE . He started out by cleaning planes - see our weekend

“ duties ” taught him more than electrical stuff . And , he spent the better part of 30 years as a public relations man taking grief from dissatisfied customers ... and still he is smiling . He loves Florida and boats . He and his bride are heading to Spain as I write this , then doing a trans-Atlantic cruise back to the states . Do you know how long it took the Mayflower to get to Plymouth Rock ? Think of a number ... come on . With a good wind ? The pilgrims averaged 2-3 miles per hour and it took 72 days if I remember correctly . You can Google it . The ship Paul is taking will make the trip in six days . Did you know that Paul came from a family as big as mine . He had seven brothers and sisters ... yeah , eight ... and so did two other guys in our class ... yes , three classmates total – each had seven siblings ?
How many had a son or nephew go to Willliamson ? I ’ d like to add to my list . My two birth sons were accepted , but chose to attend “ regular colleges .” Paul ’ s son is a pastor ... what ?? A youth pastor and does sound systems .
How many in our class had a sibling go to Williamson before or after us ? Answer next time !! What student in our class did Paul know since first grade ? Part of the Claymont crew ... can you name the four classmates from Claymont ? Or anyone else from out of state ??
Major congrats to Bob Jordan who sent me a quick update after last week ’ s wild weekend at Mike Links ’ place . He writes , “ Just got back from the weekend with the Willy gang at Mike Links ’ house down in the Villas , N . J . We had a great turnout including Dave Edwards , Jay Comly , Marty Jeffers , Art Noel , Joe Santoro , Joe D ’ Ignazio , Hank Ferri , and of course , Mike Link . Too much fun was had by all including corn hole , darts , kite flying , gourmet cooking , campfire and , of course , stories of the old days . The stories keep getting better and better as the years go by .
On a personal note my wife Connie and I became first-time grandparents !!! My son Daniel and his wife Abigail welcomed into this world their daughter Lily Singleton . We are over the moon with joy and thanks and now I finally get how great it is to be a grandparent !! I still need new email addresses so please send them to Seawolf7w6 @ gmail . com . ( Thanks Bob / Rob ... and , of course , any info at all on you , your family , or your classmates . My email is gordoncomedy @ gmail . com )
That ’ s all I have for now . Still waiting on some news on nicknames and odd memories from cars , to dances , to teachers . I went to the Convocation in September and saw the lineup outside of Rowan Hall . So many memories of those two long lines . New sites include the incredible new student activity center that blocks your view of the football field . And the train station , which is still there in ruins . There is a new dorm and some of the names of the dorms have

changed . And the chapel has a new balcony that seats 50 ? And the dining hall is so much bigger and nicer now . Good things are happening at Williamson .
And , I am back on the road again – after a two year “ rest time .” Between CO- VID and a car crash it has been a long two years . Blessings on us all !

Hello , classmates !
Hope this finds everyone well and prepping for the winter wherever you ’ re located . Hopefully , you weren ’ t impacted by Hurricane Ian . We had our reunion on June 3rd and had a decent turnout with the following guys in attendance : Pete Lunny , Tom Murray , Jim Mahoney , Dave Whalen , Tom McKelvey , Rob Tarlo , Mike Sykes , and Rev . Mark Specht . It was great seeing everyone . I received a call from Bill Gimbel who couldn ’ t make it and got caught up with him . He ’ s into his fishing and extended an invite to come visit him in Delaware for a trip out on the water . He was in contact with Jack Kubis for a while , but has lost touch with him .
Dave Chorney sent me an email letting me know he would be on a trip to Germany with his wife Karen of 43 years and wouldn ’ t make the reunion . Both are retired , she a school teacher and Dave from the Carpenters ’ Union since 2011 . Jim Mahoney extended an invite to his beach house on LBI to his old roommate Chuck Markwardt , Tom Murray , and myself . Glad those guys were able to get together . Unfortunately , I wasn ’ t able to make it .
The Alumni Association has been transitioning under the leadership of Laura Brown , director of alumni relations , who organizes the events such as the reunions , etc ., so check out the website and see what ’ s going on . One event I encourage you guys to try and make is the summer beach gathering . Great event and location . I met an alumnus who traveled all the way up from Georgia to attend and spend some vacation time in New Jersey .
Well , that ’ s all I got for now . Keep in touch .

For those who missed it , we welcomed September with our annual reunion picnic at Historic Old Home Farm near Pottstown . Thanks to Kurt for hosting

again ! Perfect weather ! Everyone in attendance commented on what a great event this was .
In attendance was our Kurt Elliott , Bob Olock , Steve and Connie Wagner , Phil Gricco , Ed and Kathy Zimmerman , Jim Hershey , Tom and Kelley Bressler , Mike and Mary McGann , Garry and Penny Saroukas , Bob Caldwell and Joanna , and myself .
The Wagners came the furthest from Louisiana , and then the Bresslers from Virginia . Bob “ Chelsea ” Wilson made an appearance by phone call . He and Lynn Rosser could not make it as Lynn was expecting another grandbaby on the way .
The ladies were once again treated to the Soap Shop tour as well as our stories about our time at Willy , featuring the world-class dining experiences with top-notch wait staff .
There was discussion and laughter of the infamous Olive Loaf Sandwich and other fine entrees with names that made our ladies cringe . We reflected on the loss of Tom Birmingham late in the summer as a result of an earlier fall . There is always the “ Ever hear from ...?” question . Sadly , many times the answer is “ no .” We gotta fix that .
Lastly , all enjoyed the hayride around the farm fields with Kurt at the wheel of the John Deere . Saturday , Sept . 9 , 2023 , will be next year ’ s gathering – always the first Saturday after Labor Day . Bress hopes to round up a few more newbies to our gathering for next year .
Kurt is adding to the ranks of the retired as he is ending his Soap Shop career at the end of the year . He is looking forward to having his Saturdays free . Bob O . took in a lot of Iron Pigs games in Allentown this summer . Bress is still working for Raytheon and still travelling the world . He and Kelley are in Leesburg , Va ., and have a place in Myrtle Beach . Jim and Audrey Hershey moved from Maryland and should have their new house in Millsboro , Del ., completed by the time this issue arrives . Ed and Kathy spend summers at their second place near Cape May Courthouse . Cathy and I just started booking cruises again after a several year hiatus , and are part-timers in Millsboro , Del .
WCT is hosting reunions of classes ending in “ 3 ” and “ 8 ” to be held on Alumni Day weekend in June ( our 45th ), so watch for an announcement of that .
