along with a visit to San Antonio and perhaps a round of golf . I ’ m also happy to report that I ’ ve had no new health issues lately and my PSA has been staying undetectable after my surgery , radiation , and hormone therapy . That ’ s about it for me . Stay healthy , my brothers .
Carl Hagstrom : All ’ s well in NE PA . Scrounge , we ’ re in good health , and busy keep ’ n things up at the ranch . Had another great spring Turkey Fest with a good crowd , and as usual , lots of laugh ’ n and story tell ’ n . Always amazed at how many different versions of the same Willy story there are , and how certain each guy is that their version is the correct one . Stew and Jack came up empty as far as birds , but that didn ’ t stop any of us from have ’ n a great time . I always look forward to that event . Had a big April snow storm - 14 " of wet heavy snow that pushed over a real nice cherry tree down in our big woods . When the gang was up for spring gobbler , took Leary and Lorensen down to take a look , and they came up this summer after I busted it up into saw logs and helped turn that tree into some really nice 5 / 4 cherry . I stuffed it in the kiln and will be take ’ n about 350 bd / ft of top notch cherry down the Carp Shop mid-November . Hope everyone ’ s do ’ n OK , and am really look ’ n forward to the 50th at the school . Talk about different versions of the same story , can ’ t wait to hear some of ’ em at the reunion .
That ’ s it for this time , guys . Please keep in touch and try to remember the school and giving back for all they ’ ve done for us .

Brothers of 7W5 ,
This year , 7W5 and the incoming freshmen 2W5 , began the 50-Year Affiliate Class Program . The committee members , as of 09 / 12 / 22 , are John Rex , Dennis Hull , Philip Staurowsky , and me . The program provides an opportunity to share your life and Williamson school day experiences , hear their thoughts and concerns , and provide advice ( when asked ) and mentor throughout their years . It ’ s also a great way to see the 7W5 guys on campus now and then . In August / September we attended the Freshman Bar-B-Que , Freshman Move-in Day , and Convocation . We would like more of you to sign on to this 3-year program . It ’ s actually a lot of fun ! Contact me if you have any questions about the program and are interested in joining us . From Dennis Hull : As a member of the 7W5 50-Year Affiliate Committee , I had the opportunity to meet the incoming freshmen . The new students spent time at the school before the Sept . 1st start
date to explore the campus and meet their fellow classmates . This “ initiation period ” is a good way to help the class bond together and make new friends . At the Alumni Bar-B-Que on Aug . 19 there wasn ’ t much interaction with the freshmen at first . I ’ m sure the students saw us as just some old alumni checking them out . Eventually , introductions were made and conversations started . I was impressed with the new class . They appeared to be a fine group of young men . All we met were friendly and polite . I asked some students how they heard about the school . The most popular answer was from advertising . The school is doing a good job of getting the Williamson name out to the public . For me , the best day was August 24 , Freshman Move-In Day . After a brief gathering of faculty , alumni , students , family , and friends in the cafeteria where introductions and welcome speeches were made , the students moved their belongings into their dorms . Our committee stood in front of the dorms watching them . Students were working together helping other students take their belongings to their rooms . The committee helped lost parents find buildings , answered questions , and conversed with many of the students and parents . How many of you remember your move-in day ? The Class of 2W5 is off to a good start . I saw them interact and heard them express their eagerness to get started on this new journey . I ’ m looking forward to more involvement with them over the next three years .
Ed Eichelberger , I misplaced an email received from you way back in 2017 . Sorry , but I guess this is better late than never . Hello , Steve , here ’ s what I ’ ve been up to for the last 43 years ! My wife and I just celebrated our 25th anniversary . We have four children and 11 grandchildren ! My two daughters and my wife ’ s son and daughter are from previous marriages . I am blessed to have such a great family . I ’ m proud of all of them . I have been especially blessed in my career . I left Pennsylvania in 1980 . Manufacturing was shrinking . My new employer moved my family to South Carolina , but first I had to move to England to buy machine tools throughout Europe for a new automotive supplier start-up in Greenville , S . C . My career was in the defense industry , textile machinery , and back to the automotive industry after running a small shop of my own . I eventually ended up at BMW as a manufacturing engineer . This was cool as I was still involved in motorsports . It was interesting to work for a manufacturer . In 2007 , I switched careers . I ’ ve been a field service engineer for Siemens Energy for the last 10 years . Never regretted the change . Amazingly , I work with a lot of Williamson alumni . The energy generation industry is filled with our machinists and power plant alumni . I am tired of traveling the world and looking forward to retirement in three years . My wife needed an operation . So
I sold the ’ 55 and ’ 57 Chevys in 2006 . Financial recovery took three years . I got back into hot rods and eventually race cars . My off-time has been busy going to the race tracks and car shows up and down the East Coast . I do Facebook . It has renewed my old friendships from Pennsylvania and the motorsports world . Not many from 7W5 , though ! Anyhow , look me up . You ’ ll see plenty of pictures ! Best regards to all . Ed , you ’ re welcome to send me an update for the class notes anytime .
John Votta , I misplaced an email received from you in 2017 . Here it is . Patty and I are going to be grandparents ! First one !! Our daughter Kelly and her husband Rob are due in February . Kelly is a teacher and Rob is in financial planning . They just made settlement on their first home . They are close to us so we ’ ll get to see the kid a lot ! Our sons John and Jason are doing great , too . John is an IT - network specialist and Jason is a programmer . Neither one wanted to be a bricklayer ? I don ’ t get it !! Both sons are single , but have long-time awesome girlfriends . Patty and I are still having a great time together after 37 years married . Who woulda thunk !! We like being empty nesters , but love when we all get together . We spend a lot of time at our house down the Jersey Shore . I ’ ll probably be a summertime beach bum after I retire . Still nothing definite on retirement . Maybe sometime in 2018 . Still traveling : China , Japan , Germany , UK , Netherlands . Patty still wants to work ( at Widener University ) after I retire . Says I ’ ll drive her crazy being together 24 / 7 . Got a new toy last year - a jet ski . Pretty cool ! My kids think I ’ m crazy topping out at 60 mph . Harry G and I still hang out . It ’ s not unusual to see Donna , Patty , Harry , and me at a Tiki bar grabbing a few cold ones and listening to a local band . Harry gets “ Bushwhacked .” He really enjoys Busch Beer ! Actually , we all get a little wacked , but I like to say Harry gets “ Bushwhacked !” Hard to believe 40 years passed since we roamed the Williamson campus . Lots of great memories . Where did the time go ? I appreciate you stepping up to keep the 7W5 class together . All the best to you , your family , and to our 7W5 Class ... Cheers ! John , I ’ m really sorry this is so late . Send me an update .
Jim Carpenter sent this in August . The 47 years since I left Williamson have been a wild ride . I worked a few masonry and septic jobs right out of school . Ran a pig farm with 3,000 hogs in the mid-1980s . Moved on to owning a fine dining restaurant and jazz club . Started a successful landscaping business . Navigating the ins and outs of marketing led me to become an expert in search engine optimization , so I added that service to my business to help others . The last eight years , I ’ ve been living in a town just south of Dover , Del ., with my third wife Stephanie . We ’ re moving to the mountains of east Tennessee for her job . She ’ s a history professor
. Our house in Delaware should close by end of September . I spent the last year updating the house . I planted fruit trees and bushes eight years ago , raised bees , and grew medicinal and gourmet mushrooms . I used to be an avid cyclist . Perhaps I ’ ll be able to pick that up again . My best ride was 75 miles in Delaware ’ s Double Cross . In Delaware , I served on the town council for several years . I learned a lot about living in a small community that experiences an occasional stray cow . Steve , thanks for the opportunity to write . I enjoy the Williamsonian and reading what our classmates are doing . Jim , thanks for the update . Good luck with the sale of the house . Send me your new address once you are situated in Tennessee .
Danial McCarthy ’ s phone message is unique . His grandson answers , “ Hi , this is my Poppy ’ s phone . Please leave a message .” Dan received a call from Al Gaspari , Glenn Tomlinson , Wayne Rugg , and Scot Shattuck while they were on the golf course during the annual WTS Golf Tournament .
I later spoke to Glenn about the tournament . He said it was fun catching up . Wayne ’ s retired , has a couple of children , and is considering remarrying . Glenn saw some of his former Williamson students on the course and was thanked for the knowledge he provided as the paint shop teacher at the school . Glenn said Al , Wayne , and Scott are avid golfers and carried him in the stats for the day . That ’ s OK , Glen , you can show them how to paint to even the score ! Glenn , I hope the renovation work at your place in OC , NJ , is progressing well . Hoping it ’ s finished before you begin full-time residence there after 2023 Christmas . You ’ ll enjoy seeing your two daughters and grandchildren that live at the shore more often . On behalf of our entire class , congratulations on receiving the 2022 Alumnus of the Year Award at the Alumni Association Banquet ! It was nice to hear Bob McNabb ( one of our 7W3 seniors ) and Donald Day ( our WTS social science instructor ) were at the banquet to witness you receiving the award .
Now for a couple of quickies : Mike Natale had an ankle replaced some time ago . He ’ s got a daughter ( Angela ) and a granddaughter ( Autumn Rose ). Vince Palilla has a son and a few grandchildren . He is retired and enjoys hunting . Dennis Hull is retired , lives in Newark , Del ., and is a full-time caretaker for his mother . Four years ago , Harry Goldy had his left knee replaced and had a rough go of it . He had it operated on two more times afterward due to infections . He and Donna retired five years ago . Back in 2019 , they went on a 7-day vacation with John and Patty Votta to Riviera Maya in Mexico . Bill and Mary Neverosky are married 45 years , have two daughters , and are both retired after working for the Pennsylvania State Prison System . Bill was the masonry instructor . David Klinger was on vacation
