Also, Nancy is doing well overcoming the effects of a stroke she endured several years ago. Wearing a foot-brace that improves her mobility allows her to occasionally play golf with Ed. She rides her bike a distance of 12 miles, four nights a week. Ed suggests that“ unfortunately, if we did not have these medical issues, we would not be able to provide our class rep with much to write about!” Ed, Rep is grateful for any and all contributions.
Joe and Millie Ratcliff reside in Colorado where they accompanied members of their Porsche Auto Club on a road trip over Rabbit Ears Pass, a high mountain pass in the Rocky Mountains of northern Colorado. The pass is so named as the summit consists of two large columns of rock formation in the shape of rabbit ears. Travelling their route, they encountered snow along the way to Steamboat Springs, a Colorado ski resort. They had a great time with a total of 20 Porsche autos and their owners on the trip.
Joe, Millie, and family celebrated Joe’ s 80th birthday with a luncheon at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs. They observed a beautiful display of Christmas lights. Joe informs he is unable to raise his arm above his waist. He was scheduled for shoulder surgery and rehab in March; Millie for a knee replacement in April. No one told us 80 would be easy, Joe. Praying you both have successful surgeries and recovery. Gold tees beckoning!
Ron Levis, the youngest member of the Class of 5W6, will join our group of octogenarians on June 29. Skip revealed this pending milestone to Jack when Skip and Beverly met Jack and Bev Perkins for lunch at Shady Maple. The Class of 5W6 welcomes you aboard, Skip!
Jack and Bev serve as mentors in an afterschool program at their church helping first grade children from the east end of Norristown with their homework. Jack notes that“ the mentors had to learn all over again as teaching methods are not the same as they were 75 years ago.”
Lynn Delozier notes that classmates now residing in their eighth decade“ were not perfect angels while in school and, thankfully, God isn’ t done with us yet!” Lynn drives for Freightliner Trucking Co. and is required to pass an annual physical exam administered by the Dept. of Transportation in order to retain his CDL. His test results were within normal range. Having recently experienced heart issues, he is thankful for the care received from his cardiologist, clearing him to retain his license.
The Mulherins wintered in Palm Springs, Calif., returning home in April. Bill notes:“ We had plenty of rain- very much a drought-buster. The view from our condo revealed beautiful snow cover on the mountain tops. We are both in good health and getting older, thank God! Much better than the alternative!”
Homer visited Disney World in Florida, planning to travel to Blue Ridge, Ga., before returning home in March.
Jim Kerry attended a meeting in March with the Florida Geezer’ s group. Terry Earle 5W4 organizes the luncheons for the group of WTS grads residing in Florida. The group meets twice a year, in March and in September, at a restaurant in Orlando. Terry sends invitations through email to approximately 40 known Florida grads encouraging their attendance. Jim and Terry were disappointed when Jim, Terry, and Terry’ s wife were the only guests attending the March gathering

. They were especially disappointed as Terry received few replies from those on his guest list. Jim notes that in the past, 10 to 15 grads would attend these luncheons and enjoy conversation on their experiences as students. According to Jim, Terry will give it another try for their luncheon in September.
Jim planned to contact Don Lambert, also living in Florida, to see whether Don might consider joining the group. Jim informs:“ As for me, I force myself to play golf on Friday mornings and bowl Friday afternoons. It’ s a tough life!”
NOTE: Jim’ s wife had been in a nursing home with no improvement in her health or her dementia. Jim called in late March to inform that his wife had passed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, Jim.
I will look forward to seeing my classmates on campus for Alumni Day. If unable to attend, don’ t neglect to support our next article with a few lines. We want to hear from you.
Class Records: I sent to classmates with email addresses the current( 04 / 2017) address, phone, and email address listing for each classmate in an effort to update your information. If you make a change, please let me know and I will correct the record for myself and at school. This will ensure you are informed of class news and school activities.

I had a short note from Carl Lingertot. He and Shirley are enjoying life at Freedom Plaza, a continuing care facility in Florida. Carl says he will not be making his annual salmon trip to Alaska this year. He wants to give the bears a chance to fatten up for next winter’ s long sleep. I’ m sure the bears will appreciate it.
I talked with Musty Machamer last month about his rehab after his heart surgery. He says he is coming along nicely. His two sons and daughter are taking good of him. He and Dorothy are thinking about downsizing and moving to a ranch style house with no stairs. Sounds like a good idea to me.
Joe and Laney Updegrove are doing fine in Ft. Wayne. Joe is doing some renovation work to the house, one room at a time. He had cataract surgery in March. Joe is planning on coming in for Alumni Day( it is our 60th reunion) and hopes some of our other classmates will be there to celebrate.
Sandy and Hanne Mellor did not do their Florida tour this year. They are spending their time visiting their children and grandchildren who live in the area. Sandy says that Bert and Marie Miller are doing fine in Tamaqua.
Had a nice note from Edna and Don Rumbold. Actually, the note was from Edna. She says Don can only type with one finger and that takes too long. Edna is tired of the winter snow storms and is ready to get outside and start her flower gardens. They are expecting their 12th great grandchild in June. Now that is a big family. They have enough to start their own town …“ Rumboldville” has a nice ring!
Pat and I are really getting used to this warm Florida winter weather. It is nice not

to have to pull on boots and button up heavy coats. Golfing three days a week also helps pass the time. We plan to spend nine days in Hawaii in April this year. Don’ t know if we will have time to have lunch with Barrack and Michelle this trip. We will not be at Alumni Day this year; our oldest grandson is graduating high school in California that weekend. We will be visiting family and friends in the Pottstown area over July 4th this summer. Sandy is going to try for a lunch again this year at Shady Maple. I hope it can be done.
That’ s it for this Williamsonian. Have a great summer.

With the winter behind us, hopefully, we can all look ahead to good weather, health, and happiness.
As usual before beginning each Williamsonian edition, I write to each of you for news. Unlike the last issue, just a few classmates responded
. To begin with, Bob and Maria are on the march again. After a long winter respite at their base camp in Florida, they have begun their trip north. Bob reported that he and Maria had a tough year healthwise, but have rebounded and are ready to travel again. They began their trip in their 38-foot motor coach heading to New Orleans. Along the way they blew a tire, which in their case is a big deal. Another stop along the way to the coach factory for some needed warranty work. With many stops along the way, they are headed to Joseph, Ore. Their grandson will be getting married on June 24. Bob did promise he will return to Pennsylvania for Homecoming weekend in October.
Forever faithful Andy Keller reported in from Charlottesville, Va. He mentioned they had a very mild winter and no need for a snow shoveling. They will be headed to Nags Head with their grandchildren to enjoy spring break together. Andy continues to be very active with his Masonic Lodge. Barb and Andy report they love and follow University of Virginia baseball and attend all the home games.
Jim and Mary Davis wrote and mentioned they will be unable to attend Alumni Day this year as they have a conflict with family functions. Jim reported they had to sell their house boat after all these many years. It just
