Many improvements were brought about by the 5-year “ Building for the Future ” comprehensive capital campaign . Below are just a few of them , and the people who made them possible . This helps the school ’ s ability to provide students with the best trade education in the country . [ See article on page 1 .]
From left to right , top to bottom are : Lee Rowan ’ s gifts helped upgrade the Power Plant Technology Program so much it was named the Lee Rowan School of Power Plant Technology . Marion and Joe Wesley ’ s generosity enabled the groundbreaking for the Wesley Student Center ( rendering on page 1 ). The replacement of every window in Rowan Hall .
Gifts from Lee Rowan and the Henry M . Rowan Family Foundation allowed for the expansion of Rowan Hall ’ s dining room . Judith and William Strine ’ s generosity enabled the groundbreaking for a new dormitory — Strine Dormitory , named after William ’ s late father Walter Strine 2W9 , former board vice chairman . The Rowan Family has been a long-time supporter of Williamson , pictured are Ginny Rowan Smith , Lee Rowan , Rowan Smith Watson , and Manning Smith IV .
The installation of smart classroom technology in almost every classroom on campus . ( Pictured is Peter Zwolak 0W7 , masonry instructor .) Trustee Richard Clemens ’ gift provided for the renovation of Stell Dormitory which is now named Clemens Dormitory in honor of his late father , former school president James Clemens 3W4 . The replacement of windows in four shop buildings .
A generous gift from the late Franklin Burke provided for the construction of Watson Dormitory , named for his close friend , former board chairman the late Wayne Watson 4W8 . Franklin Burke , former long-term trustee . The Eyre Dormitory ribbon cutting with lead donor , Josephine Mandeville , of the Connelly Foundation .
