Edward Fitzkee 4W3 , a retired teacher , died Nov . 11 . He was 97 .
Mr . Fitzkee taught English and public speaking at Kennett High School and was chair of the English Department .
He served in the Army ’ s 26th Infantry Division in Europe during World War II , many times in heavy combat .
He earned a bachelor ’ s degree at Elizabethtown College , and a master ’ s degree at the University of Delaware .
He was an active member of the Kennett Presbyterian Church . He was elected to the Kennett Borough Town Council and served from 1974-82 and was council president from 1979-82 .
He was the tennis counselor summers at Camp Kennebec , a prestigious camp in Maine for boys .

Howard “ Bud ” Fluck 4W9 , the former owner of the Henry S . Rau Co ., died March 15 . He was 92 .
He was a member of Williamson ’ s Alumni Association and the United Methodist Church in Prospect Park and served in the U . S . Army during the Korean War .

Samuel Swayne 5W0 , who was active in his community , died Feb . 9 . He was 90 .
He was a member of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon , Main Line Forest 153 ; the Free & Accepted Masons of Pennsylvania , Kennett Lodge No . 475 ; and Longwood Fire Company .
Russell L . Brown 5W2
Russell Brown 5W2 , a retired maintenance supervisor , died Sept . 24 . He was 88 .
Mr . Brown served an apprenticeship with the Heinz Division of the Kelsey Hayes Co ., was a production service engineer at Leeds and Northrup , and was a maintenance supervisor at Drexelbrook Engineering until his retirement .
He was a member of the NRA , the Horsham Fire Co . and Lamott Fire Co . of Elkins Park , and the W . K Bray Lodge F .& A . M . # 410 .
He breeded and showed Golden Retrievers , was a member of the Vereingung Erzgebirge Club , enjoyed fishing and hunting , and was an active resident of Spring House Estates in Lower Gwynedd Township , Pa .
John R . Bubel 5W3
John Bubel , owner of a masonry contracting business and former adjunct Williamson masonry instructor , died Oct . 29 . He was 86 .

Mr . Bubel ran his business 43 years and hired many Williamson graduates .
He came out of retirement to teach masonry part-time at Williamson , concentrating on supervising on-campus masonry projects and off-campus community service projects . He did the masonry work for Williamson ’ s Lipp Education Center .
Mr . Bubel served in the U . S . Army and National Guard .
He enjoyed fly fishing , fly tying , woodworking , hunting , gardening , and was a parishioner at St . Francis de Sales Church in Lenni , Pa .
Charles W . Huegel 5W4
Charles ” Charlie ” Huegel 5W4 , a retired industrial arts teacher , died Feb . 4 . He was 85 .
Mr . Huegel taught Industrial Arts 26 years , at Pleasantville High School , Titusville Junior High , and the last 24 years at Cranberry Jr ./ Sr . High School . He retired in 1993 .
After graduating from Williamson , he headed west in his pickup truck , exploring the country and working as a farmhand in Wyoming and Montana .
In 1955 , he joined the U . S . Navy and was a machinist mate on the USS Newport News .
He then worked as shop foreman at Young ' s Tractor Sales in Shippenville and then earned a teaching degree at California University of Pennsylvania . In retirement , he pursued his passion of farming and working on tractors .
Richard Bateman 5W5
Richard Bateman Sr . 5W5 , former mayor of Trappe , Pa ., died Nov . 21 . He was 84 .
He served in the U . S . Marine Corps and the National Guard and attended the Graterford Bible Fellowship Church .
Andrew J . Pitonyak 5W8
Andrew J . Pitonyak 5W8 , an engineer at Rohm & Haas , died Jan . 7 . He was 82 .
While a Williamson student , he witnessed the 1957 fire that destroyed the shop buildings and then built a topo scale model of the campus that indicated the location of the future shop buildings and Science Building . This experience opened an opportunity for his first job offer from United Scale Models .
While working in the scale model industry , he continued his education , graduating from Widener University in 1976 with a degree in mechanical engineering . He then worked for the Rohm & Haas Co . until his retirement .
He was a member of Saint John Bosco Roman Catholic Church , Sugarloaf , and was Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus , 8613 Our Lady of Fatima , Conyngham .
He enjoyed traveling and golfing .
Charles W . Klauger 5W9
Charles Klauger 5W9 , a retired manager at Air Products and Chemicals ,

died Feb . 2 . He was 81 .
Mr . Klauger had a long career at Air Products and Chemicals , retiring in 1995 as regional manager of the Southeast Region .
He was an active member of Hironimus Union Church , enjoyed fishing , and raised and stocked trout for the Union County Sportsmen ’ s Club .
He loved his Buicks and was known as “ The Old Man of the Mountain ” at the race track . He was a member of the Union County Republican Committee and an advocate for the residents of Hartley Township .
Joseph Diggins 6W7
Joseph Diggins 6W7 , a retired regional manager for Hitachi , died Jan . 17 . He was 75 .
He worked 36 years for Foster Wheeler , and two years at Kvaerner Power .
He traveled to all 50 states and 22 countries , enjoyed woodworking and metalsmithing , and his favorite pastime was enjoying his 13 grandchildren .
Terry C . Ditzler 6W7
Terry Ditzler 6W7 , a construction superintendent , died Dec . 24 . He was 74 .
He was a superintendent for Keener , Inc . in Mechanicsburg , Pa ., and won an award for building the Schuylkill Mall and was honored as a 50-year member of the Local # 5 Bricklayer and Allied Craftsman Union .
He served 18 months in Vietnam as a Seabee in the Navy ’ s Mobile Construction Battalion # 53 . He was a member of St . Peter ’ s Lutheran Church , Pine Grove , where he served on Church Council and the Cemetery Board .
He was a member of the Pine Grove American Legion Post 374 , Pine Grove VFW Post 3432 , Brookside Hunting Club , and was inducted into the Allen Rogowicz Hall of Fame .
He enjoyed woodworking , hunting , fishing , the outdoors , taking care of his property , watching his grandchildren play sports , and was an avid sports fan .
He was a 1964 graduate of Pine Grove Area High School , where he was a 1,000 point scorer on the boys ’ basketball team .

Ray Peters 6W7 , a carpenter who worked many years at H . W . Raymond Co ., died March 25 . He was 74 .
Mr . Peters was a member of the Blanchard Church of Christ , where he was a deacon , elder , and Sunday school teacher .
He served in the U . S . Navy in Vietnam , Cuba , and Bermuda .

Walter Schoffstall 6W9 , an engineer for Dayton Superior , in Tremont , Pa ., died Nov . 26 . He was 71 .

He enjoyed horseshoes and cards and was a fan of Penn State wrestling and football .

Timothy “ Bimmer ” Maidenford 8W8 , a power industry employee , died March 11 . He was 53 .
His work at GE Steam Power America took him all over the worlds , as the director of project execution , project management , project engineering , and construction and commissioning .
He was a member of Joliett Fire Co . and Keffer Tower Hunting Club , enjoyed hunting , and was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State .
James T . Hannigan 9W1
James Hannigan Jr . 9W1 , former director of plans and operations at Williamson , died Dec . 4 . He was 50 .
He also worked as an administrative assistant for an accounting firm in Philadelphia and in outside sales for Raubs Supply Co .
At the Keller Graduate School of Management , in Tyson ’ s Corner , Va ., he worked in admission ’ s , and then opened offices in Orlando , Fla ., Crystal City , outside Washington , D . C ., where he became center director , Ft . Washington , Pa ., and Valley Forge .
He also was a dean of admissions for the Bradley Academy for the Visual Arts in York , Pa .
He worked nine weeks as a carpenter ’ s helper and boatswain on the tall ship Gazella .
He earned a bachelor of arts degree in public administration at LaSalle University , and an MBA with an emphasis in marketing at Keller Graduate School of Management .

Brandon Deeck 1W7 , a successful self-employed landscaper , died June 28 . He was 24 .
He studied horticulture , landscaping , and turf management at Williamson and enjoyed working with Bobcats , machinery , plowing snow in the winter , and diesel trucks .
He also enjoyed jet-skis at the shore and attending professional sporting events . At Williamson , he was captain of the lacrosse team .
He liked helping people , and was training to be a firefighter and helped with the DePaul Brothers Toy Drive .
