The Williamsonian Fall 2012 | Page 13

doing pretty good and I, well, insulin, pills, knee injections, and doctors are keeping me up and running. I really can’t complain, but getting old does have some drawbacks as I’m sure you all know. Of course, this “winter in name only” and triple digit temperatures, drought and no rain to speak of, doesn’t help matters, and everything outside looks terrible. But on the bright side, there is no grass to cut and little outside work to be done. But, we are not alone, most of the country is in the same situation. Til next time, stay safe, keep well, and God bless. Russell and Betty Harvey: Lloyd, as I stated in our phone conversation earlier, between going to the Poconos about a week after Alumni Day, and then on June 24, Betty and I went on a 7-day cruise out of Bayonne, N.J., to Bermuda, and then went back down to our shore house near Ocean City, Md. I haven’t been around much to check my e-mails. In the school year 2013-2014, Williamson will be celebrating its 125th anniversary, so watch for some special events. My best to all of you and remember, no matter how bad you may feel as you live these golden years, it’s better to be looking down at the sod than up at it. John Heibeck: It’s mid-July and not much has happened at the Heibeck front. Had one cataract removed, considered replacing shoulder joint, had therapy to relieve leg pain, and have more aches than I had before the therapy. Going to have a small cancer over my eyebrow removed and will have plastic surgery after, as well as all the little spots frozen. Am spending $3,600 for hearing aids, $1,000 for two crowns, and $1,100 to get my golf cart fixed. Just throw in $710 each month to pay lot rent in a mobile home park. Stupidest thing I ever did. At least I have a beautiful view of Rehobeth Bay. Could be worse. At least I wake up every day, pay all my bills, have a little left over, and have a nice lady friend. Oh, I forgot, I have to put up with that guy in the White House. Cheers buddies. George Kern: No e-mail reply to three e-mail requests and a phone call for class article. We miss not getting e-mail news from you, George. Fred and Mary Kreiser: Lloyd, I hope this isn’t too late. Have not read e-mails lately. Recently, I received a cortezone injection in my right ankle for arthritis. The next day, I didn’t have to use the cane. Praise the Lord! Also was fitted for a special “boot” for foot support. Received it last month, and it helps a lot. Our eldest son from Tennessee was here last month with most of his family. We had lots of family fun, fellowship, and picnic food. P.T.L. Our grandson, Jacob Fox, has three years at the Naval Academy at Annapolis, Md., and he just returned a couple days ago from a 10day trip to Israel. Now we’re in the midst of worst drought in Brooklyn, Mich., since summer 1988. Received two passing showers lately. We need more “Showers of Blessing.” For this we most humbly plead, O dear Lord! Sincerely, Fred 5W1 (no longer Ono!) Richard and Doris Rehrer: Lloyd, we thought our house was sold, but three days before closing we found out the buyers could not get a mortgage. This was after everything else checked out fine. You can imagine the disappointment. We know God has better things in mind for us. We have moved back to our house at 9915 Clubhouse Dr., Lakewood Ranch, FL 34202. Our other house is for sale and we hope it sells soon. Other than that, we have been relatively fine. Doris has had a problem with an ulcer in her stomach which the doctor said is healing, but it still bothers her. She has lost a lot of weight due to not eating much because of the discomfort. We’re still content here in Florida since it’s the coolest place on the planet. We hope to visit Pennsylvania shortly as soon as we get our house sold. Thanks for keeping us all informed. Your old roomie. Lloyd and Virginia Rennix: My left total-shoulder replacement is coming along just fine. I don’t see the doctor again until January next year. I still exercise it five times a week. The doctor said I am doing fine and advancing ahead of schedule. Still have a lot of stretching to do. The physical therapist said it would take a year to a year-and-a-half to fully stretch and get the shoulder muscles in shape. The neuropathy in both of my feet slowly gets worse. I walk slowly, like an old man!! Virginia is doing well. John and Peppa Robbins: I am doing very well. I had to lower the price of
