I started playing piano when I was six so it has been a long journey . My brother and I formed a band and started performing gigs at 11 years old , although there was no singing at this point . For a few years while in school I got very serious about becoming a classical pianist and practising formed a huge part of my day .

Just before I finished year 12 , I got into music production , song writing , engineering and won a scholarship to study audio engineering . I ended up with a studio , producing music for probably ten years . Once I got into real estate that all changed and I didn ’ t have the time , however I started performing live in a band for the next ten years . I still do performances , although I ’ m highly selective ( I slowed down after I had my third baby which coincided with COVID-19 restrictions ).

I studied at the Julian Ashton Art School in Sydney , and I ’ ve been painting in oils all my adult life . I was involved in professional sport for 20 years , and I enjoy painting action portraits of fellow sportspeople .
I paint a lot of landscapes , and , as someone involved regularly in property , I paint character homes , and buildings with architectural significance . It ’ s a lifelong addiction !

Our band “ Parental as Anything ” have been playing together for three years . We are a six-piece band , all local parents . I love being able to focus on another skill and hobby outside of the all-consuming world of real estate .

We play a three hour show with approximately 48 songs throughout the show . I love seeing the joy on the audience ’ s faces and the fun adults can have dancing the night away . Only music can transport people to a different place away from their normal lives and routine .
