Reset and recharge to get the best out of your year

BY SHANNON COOK
It’ s time to prioritise your mental wellbeing because self care isn’ t selfish, it’ s self preservation.
The 2025 Leading Ladies of Real Estate calendar kicked off in March with the Reset and Recharge series, designed to equip women in the industry with tools to stay mentally resilient, achieve their goals, and enjoy life. The series focuses on reflection and connection, helping attendees realign their goals and balance high performance with wellbeing, mindfulness, growth, and gratitude.
If you haven’ t heard of the Leading Ladies of Real Estate initiative, it’ s worth checking it out and registering for upcoming events via the QR code below.
The initiative fosters a supportive community that inspires women in the industry to chase their potential, both professionally and personally.
The first two Reset and Recharge events took place in Adelaide and Brisbane in early March, with events in Sydney and Melbourne scheduled for 28 March and 4 April( respectively).
Adelaide’ s event featured Ashley Whitehead from EQ Minds, a corporate leader, trainer, and mental health ambassador with a background in physiology, sport science, and nutrition. She shared practical strategies to boost energy levels, nourish the body, and rediscover a zest for life. In Brisbane, EQ Minds founder
and director Chelsea Pottenger emphasised the power of genuine connections and the importance of nurturing your network, especially in a people-focused industry. She shared practical strategies for managing stress, optimising your morning routine to set the tone for the day, and preventing burnout.
For those who instinctively reach for their phones first thing in the morning, Chelsea introduced the Five-for-Five challenge. Five behaviour changes, implemented over five days, designed to reset the mind each morning.
THE FIVE-FOR-FIVE CHALLENGE INCLUDES:
1. Change your alarm from an aggressive tone to something more soothing and energising.
2. Resist the urge! Put your phone back down when you wake up. When you wake up in the morning, you get eight minutes of Theta brainwaves and this is when your brain is very malleable and at its most vulnerable.
3. Think about three things you ' re genuinely grateful for in life.
4. Tell yourself that today is going to be a good day. Your brain has a natural negativity bias so you need to position things in a different way.
5. Do this for five days. Knowledge is only powerful if we do something with it. What ' s the worst thing that’ s going to happen if you don’ t do this? Nothing!

“ My biggest takeaway is that the body keeps the score. Doing a three-day reset off the grid is something I’ m going to try. I also loved the advice about taking at least eight minutes in the morning before checking my phone.”
Ray White Mooloolaba sales team coordinator Courtney Terrill
“ I thought Chelsea was superb. My biggest take away was to recharge and rest. It ' s a reminder that it ' s okay to do that. Seeing a room full of ladies is really inspiring. To see everyone get together is a reminder you ' re not on your own.”
Ray White Rural Brisbane sales agent Rhondda Arentz
