How did your interest in wine develop ? My interest in wine started when I began eating out more often at nice restaurants ; nothing like a great steak and a fancy red .
Do you have a wine cellar or collection ? I have a wine collection which doesn ’ t last long so I had to borrow my friend Matt Carvalho ’ s cellar for the photo which he had just built custom for his new home - it ’ s incredible . I tend to drink the wine too quickly to need a cellar !
What ’ s your favourite drop ? Rockford Basket Press for reds and Lake ' s Folly Chardonnay for white .
What ’ s your favourite wine region ? South Australia for most reds , New Zealand for pinot noir , and Victoria for chardonnay .
Any advice for the amateur wine enjoyer ? More expensive doesn ’ t always mean better . Ask your local bottle-o for advice and don ’ t be afraid to try new wines !

How did your interest in wine develop ? I first moved to Sydney close to seven years ago and was introduced to the concept of a working lunch . Beer never really appealed to me so wine was the obvious choice .
Do you have a wine cellar or collection ? I have a collection - I don ’ t have a cellar . I enjoy consuming too much to have a cellar .
What ’ s your favourite drop ? Yalumba Octavius 2016 - for the fact that it ’ s exceptionally sentimental . My eldest son ’ s middle name is Octavius because I ’ ve always wanted to call him Occy and he was also born in 2016 .
It ’ s the thing that I love most about wine ; it can tell a lot of different stories .
What ’ s your favourite wine region ? Barolo and Bordeaux .
Advice for the amateur wine enjoyer ? My advice is chill your wines , there is nothing worse than drinking room temperature wine in Australia , particularly in Queensland summer . Chilled between 12 - 14 degrees makes wine far more enjoyable to consume .
