RAY WHITE FRONTS THE BRUMBIES
The Super Rugby is an annual rugby season with 12 teams from Australia , New Zealand and the Pacific Islands . The competition draws huge crowds and television audiences . The Ray White logo will be proudly displayed on the front-of-jersey for both the Brumbies Super Rugby and Super W sides , for the 2022 season .
The Ray White Group and Ray White Canberra chairman and founder Ben Faulks have entered into a joint sponsorship to support the teams .
Ever since he was able to walk , Ben Faulks has spent nearly every Saturday afternoon on the footy field , using his talents for the local rugby club at Gungahlin .
His dad was a former president of the Gungahlin Eagles club and he and his brothers used to play first grade for Gungahlin . He went on to coach the Colts side and further down the track he became a committee member as well .
His passion for the sport is real and as he said when you ’ re around the sport , “ you realise what it ’ s given you in terms of those friendship groups , that sense of community and I think it ’ s important that we ’ re looking to foster and maintain that , particularly in these times when we ’ re more disconnected .
Sport , particularly when it flows down to community sport , is a really , really important part of that .
Brumbies Super W players Kimberley Fyfe , Teliya Hetaraka and Tabua Tuinakauvadra with Ray White Canberra chairman and founder Ben Faulks .
For Ray White Canberra the sponsorship investment in the Brumbies is to see the team and their beloved community thrive .
We ’ d like to raise the profile of our brand and Canberra , share some of our successes with the community and make sure that we ’ re seen as somebody who ’ s committed to the region for the long term .
FOCUS ON … YAMBA NEW SOUTH WALES
We sat down with Daniel Kelly , principal of Ray White Yamba , to get the local secrets and hidden gems of the beautiful beach town in northern New South Wales at the mouth of the Clarence River .
Tell us about how your office started in Yamba ?
Our agency opened in Yamba in July 2005 and I commenced my career as a salesperson in December 2005 . At the time we had a team of four people , including myself and our two principals .
We now have a team of 14 and a second office in the neighbouring suburb of Maclean . During this time we have also established a property management
8 business and do holiday rental management as well . Last year we were lucky enough to represent the vast majority of vendors in Yamba , with a market share of circa 40 per cent .
For those who don ’ t know , what is Yamba like ?
Yamba was originally a fishing and surfing village that was predominantly used as a holiday town for families of towns inland from us , such as Grafton . We still have a number of the original beach houses in place on Yamba Hill . Some of these date back to the very early 1900s . Our population is now a little under 8,000 , with just under 3,000 properties and our market typically sees a turnover of around six per cent . For a town with six real estate agencies , this creates a fairly competitive environment . Yamba has been voted the number one town in Australia by Australian Traveller Magazine , we are famous for seafood , especially the “ Yamba Prawn ”.
What are your favourite cafes and restaurants in Yamba ?
We are lucky to have a lot of great cafes and restaurants . Pinewood Cafe in the CBD and One Fine Cup near our office on Yamba Road both do amazing coffee . The local Mexican restaurant is a favourite of mine , as are the Italian and Chinese restaurants on Yamba Hill .
Any other local secrets ?
There are a few ; the Blue Pools at Angourie are a must see , the fishing here is amazing , so a fishing charter is a must , and we also have an amazing golf course in Yamba that is right in the middle of town . For those who like a scenic walk , our national park walk from Angourie along the coastline is well worth doing .
What does an ideal weekend in Yamba look like ?
At the beach ... A day on the Clarence River , and dinner at any of our amazing restaurants . A drink at the iconic Pacific Hotel is usually a favourite for most people as well .
How is the real estate market going there ?
Our market is enjoying the benefits that have come with the migration of a portion of the population to coastal areas . We are seeing strong buyer demand and typically enjoy interest from out of the local area due to Yamba being so affordable for a coastal holiday town .
