POOCH PARTY IN PORT DOUGLAS

Tails were wagging in Port Douglas when the prestigious pooch party recently returned , giving pet owners the chance to spruce-up their beloved dogs and compete for exciting prizes .
Ray White Port Douglas ’ Pooch Party raised $ 5,000 for the Paws and Claws Animal Shelter .
Mark Flinn , Selling Principal of Ray White Port Douglas said it was a huge success .
“ As big animal lovers we are so ecstatic to not only be a major sponsor of this Port Douglas Carnivale event but to offer ongoing support to save the lives of our fur friends while having fun in the sunshine ,” he said .
Cassie Flinn , who runs Ray White Port Douglas ’ s marketing and customer experience , said the day was tons of fun for the entire family with over 100 entries for the Doggie Competitions .
Fergus the Lion was awarded Douglas Shire ' s Top Dog , while Chester the Golden Retriever was awarded Dog with the Waggiest Tail . Harley and Rose , the boxer puppies are agent Steve Doble ’ s new furbabies .

NETBALLERS LIGHT UP THE COURT

Ray White Inverloch has sponsored the netball uniforms of the reigning West Gippsland Football Netball Competition A-grade premiers Inverloch Kongwak .
The team have kicked off their year in style , unveiling their premiership flag as well as some amazing new playing uniforms .
After sporting their traditional blue uniforms for many seasons , the Sea Eagles this year donned brand new netball dresses covered in an incredible Indigenous design .
The new dresses , which were worn by all IK netballers from under 11s , to A-grade on Saturday were designed by Safina Stewart .
Safina is a local Indigenous artist who has moved to the area from interstate .
“ When you wear these uniforms I want you to remember the heart of what I ’ m telling you ; to be a good community ,” she said .
“ This will make you inclusive , welcoming and connected if you remember every single day – to actually live it out , don ’ t talk about it , live it out , through your attitudes , through your care and through behaviour , it ' s bigger than sport .”
“ Sport is powerful , clubs are powerful .”
