PANTSUITS , TIKTOK AND AUCTIONS WITH ANGELA LIMANIS
Every Saturday , you can find Ray White Cheltenham ’ s Angela Limanis in one of her signature pantsuits , bringing down the hammer on another auction listing .
“ Another was a house I sold for $ 2.2 million and there was a clip of a guy who bid to $ 1.9 million and a comment from a woman was , “ Hey , who is Mr $ 1.9 million and can you hook a sister up ?”
It ’ s still early days for her but experienced real estate trainer and auctioneer Tom Panos recently highlighted Angela and her videos and the value of connecting with your audience over social media .
Her pantsuit collection is legendary . Angela has seven different coloured / patterned pantsuits and countless coloured blazers . And yes , she recalls every successful auction sale in each and every one of them , but her favourite is her red suit .
“ I don ' t mind standing out a tad , it ’ s street theatre after all and when our entire team performs ( work with buyers / walking the floor ) and puts on a show , we become memorable ,” she said .
“ A coloured suit won ' t change the outcome or price of an auction but like most people , I like to feel good about what I ’ m wearing , and when I feel good , I perform well .
“ Vendors pay us to turn up to get the job done and if we can bring in great energy , a high level of skill and team involvement - thats what makes a difference .”
Her pantsuits have also made her famous on social media . Most of them are featured in her TikToks and Instagram posts . Angela first got into TikTok for fun during the first Melbourne lockdown in 2020 and played around with some dances with her daughter . She tried posting a few real estate and personal videos which only got a couple of views . Not thinking anything of it , one day she posted a 14 second clip of her calling an auction and it became an overnight sensation . She woke up to 10,000 views and a stream of private messages ! Between that video and a second she posted , she received more than 620,000 views - they brought in over 2,000 followers and almost 60,000 likes .
She takes many of the comments she receives with a grain of salt but has also received some cracking replies to her auction videos .
“ There are some really funny people in that space . The cutest was a young kid who said ‘ No offence but my dad can do better than you , he works at McGrath ’, I checked this kid ’ s page and he looked 12 , so I said ‘ Yep , I ’ m sure your dad is amazing !’ she said .
