GROUP UPDATE
It has been the most incredible start to a new financial year .
During last year ’ s lockdowns , we were inspired by the response of all our members to support their teammates and serve their customers and marketplaces as best they could . When we returned to lockdowns across most of our markets over the past three months , our members responded with the same energy and commitment of last year . The results of their resilience and creativity were beyond the reach of our imagination .
When we compare the recent results of New South Wales , Victoria and New Zealand to the results obtained during similar lockdown conditions in 2020 , they were close to double . Same operating conditions , twice the number of sales . When we look at our combined results for July and August , we wrote $ 13.9 billion in combined sales , up 36 per cent on the same time last year .
This period reminds us that the things that count most to us , are not measured in numbers . Our teams stuck together and talked in a new way . We were more comfortable asking each other how we were . Less transactional and more personal in our discussions .
What drove the market activity ? There is of course no doubt that faith in ‘ bricks and mortar ’ in uncertain times and a low interest rate outlook has created the almost perfect environment . But were we more confident that our customers and our market would remain strong ? And we listened less to the doomsayers ? We are more confident with technology and the response of our customers to new digital solutions . We keep saying it . We can take so much confidence from the resilience of our industry , and its fundamental relevance and value to everyone in our communities .
Our market share results are keenly studied each month . Not only to see what our own numbers tell us about our momentum , but to look for any trends developing across the industry .
We are pleased to report that our market share across Australia and New Zealand hit a record high at 12.8 per cent in the quarter . The growth in New Zealand was astonishing , up 4 per cent to 23.3 per cent . South Australia and regional Victoria show great momentum .
We have work to do in Queensland , as while we have twice as much market share as our competitors , our position has weakened by one per cent over the past year .
The roll-out of VaultRe as a replacement for MyDesktop , and its integration with our technology suite , is nearing completion . Our digital team has done a fantastic job to meet its roll-out targets during lockdowns . And a big thank you to every office who made the transition .
NutureCloud - a pivotal new piece of technology in OneSystem - has been launched ! You will hear a lot about it over the next few months and why we have invested so heavily in it . It will drive greater productivity in our prospecting . At a time when so many new entrants to our industry are seeking to intercept and sell customer leads , NurtureCloud is our response .
A huge congratulations to all of our award winners , you should be so proud of your achievements . Unfortunately we don ’ t have the space to detail every deserving award winner on these pages , but would like to recognise the following international award winners so far .

VACCINATIONS
There is much discussion in the media and community concerning workplace policies that will be necessary once communities begin to ‘ open-up , and live with COVID ’. Where do we stand ? Starting now for our New South Wales and Victoria corporate teams , unvaccinated employees will not be able to attend a corporate office , a network office or a network event . We will work with any unvaccinated staff to ensure they can remain productive remotely . We will have more advice on this topic in the months ahead . We would be pleased to provide to our business owners a copy of the consultation process our corporate team went through in arriving at this policy .
Dan White
To really appreciate someone ’ s success , it ’ s important to understand their story behind it . In September the inaugural “ Journeys ” webinar series was launched . A series focused on taking a closer look at some of the incredible women in our group and industry , their journey to success , the challenges they ’ ve had to face and how they ’ ve overcome them .
To kick off the series , the panel featured Vivien Yap from Ray White Dalkeith | Claremont , Holly Jones from Ray White New Brighton in New Zealand , Ray White Upper North Shore ’ s agent Anna Cavill and Sue Choong from Ray White Kellyville . Bianca Denham , Ray White performance coach , hosted the open and very candid conversation .
CELEBRATING OUR TOP WOMEN
For Vivien , it all started when a friend gave her a listing and she figured she had nothing to lose despite some negative comments from friends and family .
“ Everyone asked me ‘ why would you do this ?’. I wanted to prove them wrong . It was almost like a challenge when they said ‘ you can ’ t do this ’. I said yes I can , I can definitely do this and it just became a little challenge for me .”
Recently awarded Australia ’ s number one Ray White principal for 2020 / 2021 , it ’ s hard to believe Vivien had another life pre-real estate .
An apparent trend on the webinar , real estate wasn ’ t the first choice for any of our guest speakers . Sue Choong despite completing a double degree in business and law had ambitions to be a vet while Anna Cavill found her passion while flipping houses with her husband .
Sue ended up following in the successful footsteps of her father and over the years built three

real estate businesses , sold two ,

and now leads one of the group ’ s fastest growing property management departments .
Like Sue , Holly Jones ’ family was also in real estate , however it wasn ’ t her first choice , opting for a career in marketing . Holly ended up falling into real estate after realising marketing wasn ’ t for her . However , after achieving back to back years as number one international salesperson in terms of number of sales , it turns out Holly ’ s an exceptional marketer .
While Anna , after being denied a $ 5 pay rise , considered real estate and said she remembers thinking she wanted something where there was no limit to what she could achieve . “ I wanted something where I could be rewarded the harder I worked .” Anna is a Chairman ’ s Elite agent , sitting in the top one per cent of Ray White agents .
Stay tuned for the next webinar in the Journeys series .
Did you know ? Alan White employed the first ever female real estate agent in Queensland .
