A YEAR OF EXTREMES IN NEW ZEALAND

This past year throughout New Zealand , our members have encountered conditions at both extremes of the scale and everything in between . From the highs of record auction results , to the more challenging environment where sellers are less willing to take risks , buyers are equally cautious and the relevance of a great salesperson backed , by a strong company , has become more important than ever .
When the market is predictable , both going up and going down , it ’ s much easier for people to make decisions . Whether it ’ s buying or selling , the potential outcome is more readily able to be quantified and assessed . It is , however , when conditions change as rapidly as we have seen - with rising interest rates , increasing cost of building , and decline in average sale prices - that speculation enters and decision making is paralysed . We see this at every level of our business , from buyers and sellers hesitating to transact because they wonder whether conditions may be better or worse in six months ’ time , to salespeople and business owners hoping that it is simply a bump in the road .
The cost of indecision can be high and those that fail to recognise this and adapt quickly , will likely feel the brunt more acutely and for longer .
With 72 New Zealand offices now on Profit Pulse , it ’ s this vital information that allows the clarity to make informed business decisions .
As an organisation we continue to lead the market in our infrastructure , resources and our ability to provide outcomes for our customers . This is being recognised by salespeople and business owners alike , looking to align themselves and their teams with Ray White and we look forward to welcoming a number of key members to our group in the new year .
Our corporate team has thoroughly enjoyed the less restrictive operating environment that 2022 has provided as we adjust to a post-COVID-19 environment . This has meant that we ’ ve been able to be face-to-face with our members as well as being able to celebrate and recognise their many successes throughout the year .
On behalf of Ray White New Zealand , we ’ d like to thank our team and those across the wider group that have supported us this year as we look toward 2023 and what will be a year of opportunity for those that are willing to meet the challenges and importantly , be decisive .
