Ray White New Zealand has two TV stars in its midst , with Ray White Carpenter Realty ’ s Paul Glover , and Ray White Mission Bay agent Jayne Kiely becoming the hosts of New Zealand ’ s version of Location , Location , Location .

The pair both had a background in television , with Paul having hosted Love It or List It in New Zealand , while Jayne ’ s background as a professional athlete led her to becoming a TV presenter in the 90s and 2000s .

Paul has been acting since he was in college and said he was lucky enough to get paid for acting from a young age .

“ Acting has always been my passion , I ’ ve worked on so many incredible TV and theatre shows with such talented teams , but unless you hit the big time it ’ s pretty hard to support your family with that skill alone ,” Paul said .

“ As with many actors , even the most well-known ones , most of us have multiple jobs . I spent years being an MC but have always been drawn to real estate .

Glenfield my curiosity led me in to see how much a local home was selling for .

“ I ’ ve always had an immense respect for auctioneers and of course I love the theatre of it all , and before I knew it I was asking Glenn Carpenter if he ’ d have me in his auction room .

“ Next thing I knew I ’ m on a new career path !”

Paul said unfortunately his timing in becoming an auctioneer could have been better , and after “ the bottom fell out of the market ” there wasn ’ t enough work for him as an auctioneer .

“ The work wasn ’ t there and since I ’ d got my real estate license in the process of becoming an auctioneer I was forced into becoming an agent ,” he said .

“ I have so much gratitude for Glenn Carpenter and the team for believing in me and helping this ‘ actor ’ succeed .”

After a lifetime of pretending to be other people in front of the camera , Paul said Love It or List It was his first role where he had to play himself . Paul was then asked to audition for Location , Location , Location where he was cast alongside Jayne .

“ Isn ’ t it crazy that it took becoming a real estate agent to land my biggest roles in television ?! I still can ’ t believe it ,” Paul said .

“ The best thing is getting filmed doing something I really love - hanging out with people , helping them , and having a bit of a laugh along the way - things I ’ ve always been a natural at .”

Jayne ’ s career started as a professional sportswoman where she represented New Zealand at two Commonwealth Games and two world track and field championships as a long jumper and relay sprinter . Following her sports career , Jayne found a career as a TV presenter before going into real estate .

“ I did various sports reality shows such as Mt Dew on the Edge and hosted the first of the renovation TV shows , Mitre 10 Dream Home , for 10 years ,” Jayne said .

“ I did various commercials and also commentated at the Sydney Olympics and Melbourne Commonwealth Games .”

Once her children were old enough , Jayne got her real estate license and started her new career at 50 . Now her career has pivoted once again to take up the role as a host of Location , Location , Location .

“ I was asked if I would like to be part of the show and didn ' t hesitate to say yes because I love watching the current UK and Australian series on air at present ,” Jayne said .

“ I did several auditions and was delighted when I got the phone call to say that I was going to be one of the co-hosts for the New Zealand series of AA Insurance , Location , Location , Location .

“ The show is not really scripted at all so you can really let your own personality come through which is very authentic I feel ," Jayne said .

With filming already underway , Jayne said she has loved getting back in front of the camera and working alongside Paul .

“ I love meeting the House Hunters and getting to know them and helping them navigate the process of buying a home ,” she said .

“ It ’ s good to see the other side of the industry as a buyer ' s agent rather than the usual process of being a listing agent .

“ It ’ s enjoyable to help buyers make an informed decision and you can smooth the process a lot with the knowledge Paul and I can bring to the table .”
