2023 GROUP JUDGES

HOUND

MR . EDMUND DZIUK of Columbia , Missouri , has been actively involved in the sport of purebred dogs for over forty years . He obtained his first Beagle in 1977 , finishing the dog ’ s AKC championship as a junior owner-handler , and has never been without the breed since . Mr . Dziuk has bred or owned more than 75 Beagle champions , including 5 National Specialty Best of Breed Winners and 11 Best in Show winners . He attended his first Westminster Kennel Club show in 1980 as a junior and handled his Beagle to a Best of Variety win . The following year he returned to place in the Westminster Junior Showmanship Finals competition . Many more Westminster wins followed , culminating in two Best in Show winners : Uno in 2008 and Miss P in 2015 , co-owned by Mr . Dziuk .
For the last 20 years , Mr . Dziuk has been the Chief Operating Officer of the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals , where he has the unique opportunity to combine his business and management experience with his love of dogs and passion for and interest in canine health . He is approved to judge the Sporting and Hound Groups , several Toy and Non-Sporting breeds , Junior Showmanship and Best in Show . This is his fourth judging assignment at Westminster .

MRS . CINDY VOGELS of Greenwood Village , Colorado , is a native of Rockville Centre , New York . Cindy earned a Bachelor of Music ( Flute ) from the New England Conservatory of Music and a Master of Music ( History ) from the University of Colorado . Her interest in dogs began in High School , and she and her mother , Jackie Gottlieb , bred over 100 “ Andover ” Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier champions ; they owned numerous top winners and producers , including Ch . Andover Song N Dance Man most of whose 30-year-old breed records still stand . Cindy also bred champion Kerry Blue , Norfolk and Welsh Terriers , Brittanys , and Greyhounds .
Mrs . Vogels is AKC approved to judge all the Sporting , Hound , Terrier , Toy , and Non-Sporting
Groups . She has adjudicated at many prestigious shows worldwide , including judging Best in Show at both Westminster Kennel Club and Montgomery County Kennel Club all-Terrier show . In 2021 , Cindy was honored by her peers by being named Purina / Dog News Judge of the Year .
Her participation in dog clubs includes former President and AKC Delegate , Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Club of America ; presently , Vice-President and Show Chairman , Evergreen Colorado KC . Cindy also serves on the Board of Directors of Take the Lead and was a long-serving Board member of the AKC Canine Health Foundation . Colorado residents Mrs . Vogels and her husband of 45 years , David , enjoy an eclectic mix of house dogs . When not indulging their granddaughter , the Vogels family enjoys sports , travel and are ardent “ foodies .” This is her ninth judging assignment at Westminster .

NON-SPORTING

MR . GEORGE MILUTINOVICH of Fresno , California , has been involved in the sport of purebred dogs since he was 16 years old . He and his wife Cathy have owned and shown many breeds in conformation and obedience , including Pugs , Italian Greyhounds , Cocker Spaniels , Smooth Fox Terriers , Boxers , Bichon Frise , and Russell Terriers . Their breeding programs have produced Group and Best in Show winners in several breeds . Mr . Milutinovich serves on the board of the Sun Maid Kennel Club of Fresno and is a member of the Morris and Essex Kennel Club . He is approved to judge the Toy and Non-Sporting Groups , Whippets , Norwegian Elkhounds , Manchester Terriers , Junior Showmanship , and Best in Show . This is his second Westminster judging assignment .
