Summer Theatre in Montana
The Opera House Theatre is located in downtown Philipsburg, Montana. Built in 1891, it is recognized as the oldest continually operating theatre in Montana. Originally it was named the McDonald Opera House. It is currently owned by Tim and Claudette Dringle. Since 2000 the Opera House has been offering up live theatre to visitors of the small Montana town. They offer two shows plus a lively Vaudville show from June until September every year.
The Opera House is known for its wonderful acoustics and stage with a trap door in the middle of it. The theatre for years has been the home of several stage back drops painted by Montana artist Paxon. Ticket prices are $ 20 adult and $ 10 for children 15 and under.
