Tyler plucinski- a one act play.
Only needs meScene 1(Scene opens to a hospital room on stage right. A hospital bed
lays in the top part of the set-up. A boy in the age of 4-6 lies
in the bed. A heart monitor is on the left of the bed. The curtain opens to the heart monitor beeping. The heart monitor is
the only thing that happens for a few moments. A doctor walks
in from stage right, checks the heart monitor, writes something
on his clipboard, and then exits the way he came. A few moments later a nurse and a woman in her mid to late fifties walks
in from stage left. While they are walking to the bed they have
this conversation.)
Nurse- He moved this morning. (It should seem like we got the
end of the conversation.)
Jean- He moved?!?!(Seems to come alive) Where is he?
Nurse- Over there, in his bed.
Jean-(Rushes over to the side of the bed, gets to him and seems
to deflate) He’s still out...
Nurse-Of course he is (Realizes how Jean took it.) I’m so sorry
Jean... I didn’t mean it to come out like that...
Jean-It’s fine. I’ve just waited so long to see him... Hear him
again.
Nurse- I wouldn’t mind hearing his voice either. He has
been here for two months and this is all I have seen of him.
Jean- That’s a shame. He’s so beautiful and he has the most
beautiful voice.
Nurse- I bet he sounds amazing.
Jean- He’s got the voice of an angel.
(Doctor walks in from stage right.)
Nurse-Hello Dr. Colemen
Doctor-Hello Jackie, Ms. Roninski .
