18 Brighton Gallery April 2017 Brighton Gallery is a community Gallery of local artists run by a charitable trust for the benefit of local artists, we are situated in shop 4 Carnaby Lane off New Brighton mall down from Switch Café, between Bear Lion Café and New Brighton Regeneration Hub (ex AMI) and opposite Paper Plus On the 26 th of March the Gallery’s April biennial exhibition / competition was opened to all comers and judged by local New Brighton identities. Works are from all over New Zealand not just Canterbury. The standard is very high and the works will be on display over the month of April Judging was on the 26 th March and the opening affair took place after the Judging and at approximately 2:30pm we opened to the public. Like the last one in 2015 this is a very eclectic affair with sculptures as well as paintings of various subjects, so who knows what we will get in 2019.. We are offering community art classes for our local schools, we are open for bookings for 2017 terms NOW. Some adult evening classes have moved out of the Gallery to open space for small community groups to hire for a couple of hours in the evenings..Bookings are open for 2017, for more information give Judy a call at the gallery. Exhibition space for hire (monthly) reasonable rates. Greeting cards. Art classes from professional tutors, five days, four evenings each week, children, adult and family classes. Drawing, Acrylic, oil, water colour and pastel, classes are kept small so booking is essential. Reasonable rates, (some classes include materials).
