Brighton Gallery April 2017
Brighton Gallery is a community Gallery of local artists run by a charitable trust for the benefit of
local artists, we are situated in shop 4 Carnaby Lane off New Brighton mall down from Switch Café,
between Bear Lion Café and New Brighton Regeneration Hub (ex AMI) and opposite Paper Plus
On the 26 th of March the Gallery’s April biennial exhibition / competition was opened to all comers
and judged by local New Brighton identities. Works are from all over New Zealand not just
Canterbury. The standard is very high and the works will be on display over the month of April
Judging was on the 26 th March and the opening affair took place after the Judging and at
approximately 2:30pm we opened to the public.
Like the last one in 2015 this is a very eclectic affair with sculptures as well as paintings of various
subjects, so who knows what we will get in 2019..
We are offering community art classes for our local schools, we are open for bookings for 2017 terms
NOW. Some adult evening classes have moved out of the Gallery to open space for small community
groups to hire for a couple of hours in the evenings..Bookings are open for 2017, for more information
give Judy a call at the gallery.
