The VOICE
of LMS
Just a learner,
An earner,
A table turner.
A bad cook;
A water burner.
Just an artist,
Not the smartest,
Not the sweetest,
Not the tartest.
Just a girl,
Many curls,
Ready,
To give,
Life a whirl.
Just a person with a dream,
Standing tall, ready to scream,
Ideas as rich as triple cream,
Oozing a vibe,
That seems to gleam.
Just is overrated,
Duplicated,
Complicated.
And if I took away all the ‘justs,’
She’d be quite robust,
And you, my friend,
Would be nonplussed.

I need to find a place
Where I can be me
I need to find a place
Where I can be free
I need to find a place
Where people won’t judge
Where nobody holds a grudge
I need to find a place
Where everyone loves everyone
A place where the world is one

What He Took With Him
by Osiris Leggett - 8th grade
What He Took With Him
His three piece suit and 5 more,
A week’s worth of spray tan,
His tower and half the White House staff
With the CIA, a metric ton of trump bricks
Orange, the same brand his father made,
A small loan of one million dollars and some change,
A fresh pair of kicks in a box,
A book (“The Art Of The Deal”), some new white socks,
Some of the negativity, one red tie, his mother’s car,
His father’s broken one, all their memes
What he left behind:
The white coloured house, receiving its next president;
His old shoes, (oops!);the country,
Wondrous for surviving World War 3
Hair

Strands of hair
are like pieces of me
They cover things up
I don't want people to see
Layers of my soul
Only true friends know
Outsiders don't see
what's truly inside me
