I wish you could remember your smile
Making everyone around you,
Smile too.
I wish you could remember your grandchildren
Giving you hugs,
And caring for you.
I wish you could remember your personality
You were bright and cheery,
To everyone you knew.
I wish you could remember asking me if I was cold
Giving me your sweater,
That smells like you.
I wish you could remember how we are the same
They used to say we look alike,
And of course we knew.
I just can’t believe you don’t remember

Kindness
by Molly Smith - 8th grade

“Kindness, like a boomerang, always returns.” -Anonymous
Kindness, like a boomerang,
always returns,
it comes back with a bang
only true friendship is earned.
A kinship, a relationship
begins with a greeting
A link, a connection
ends in a beating.
Memories are made
with kindness and love
until something bad occurs
and someone ends up high above.
Me being me
and you being you
all I can see
is a chain between us two.
As time passes
the days are long
and the boomerang of kindness
is now passed on.

If I Were In Charge
by Liberty Kustafik - 8th grade
If I were in charge of the world
I’d cancel sickness,
haters,
bullies, and also
homework.
If I were in charge of the world
There would be chalk boards instead of white boards.
Everybody would tell the truth,
and we would have better upstanders.
If I were in charge of the world
Everyone would be happy,
Fighting wouldn’t exist,
Nobody would be homeless
You wouldn’t hear “that's not fair”
Because everything would be fair.
If I were in charge of the world
Everyone could watch anything on T.V,
Desserts would rule the world with me,
And a person who tripped on a rug,
And is kind of a bug.
Would still be allowed to be
In charge of the world.
