BedandBreakfast.com Update

Many of you have been sharing your thoughts and feedback about BedandBreakfast.com moving to a commission-based membership business and we want to thank you for the feedback. If you aren't familiar with the details of this change, you can find that information below.

We are seeking additional feedback from our members on how you think this change may or may not affect your business. I have shared a post on our Facebook page AIHP-The Voice. Please join the conversation there and add a BRIEF post to the thread. Please let us know if your property is currently listed on BedandBreakfast.com, whether you use their Instant Booking Feature, and if you have decided yet whether or not you will be renewing on their new commission-based model (and why).

Janice Hurley from BedandBreakfast.com, has kindly agreed to provide responses to any questions raised in this thread. We will include her post and feedback after everyone has had a chance to share their thoughts. We really appreciate your input!

On Wednesday - October 18th @ 12pm EST - one of our industry partners - Acorn Internet Services, will be hosting a webinar to discuss this topic. Lisa will be joined by Janice Hurley. All are welcome and I would encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to learn more - register here.

BedandBreakfast.com Membership:

Starting in October 2017, BedandBreakfast.com is making changes to its membership business. As properties come up for their annual renewal they will be moving to our Instant Booking (pay per booking)

membership. After renewal, properties will no longer pay an annual membership fee to list their property and will only pay commission for reservations that are booked directly through our site and partner sites. Properties that are currently under an annual membership contract will not be affected during their existing membership term. To continue our mission of delivering reservations to the industry we need to evolve as the industry evolves. We've attached more details on commission and how properties will sign up for this new model. There are more details on the landing page: https://www.bedandbreakfast.com/info/innkeepers/instant-booking-membership

Diamond Collection Update:

Also starting in October, BedandBreakfast.com will no longer be accepting new members into the Diamond Collection. We have been extremely happy with the growth of the program in past years and wish to maintain a high level of exclusivity and customer service for these special members. With the upcoming changes, we are offering a short one-time deal for past Diamond Members or existing properties that qualify to join the Diamond Collection at no cost before the October 1 deadline. Members of the Diamond Collection will continue to maintain their branding, placement and web presence on BedandBreakfast.com as they have for the last 7 years. There are no changes to the Collection other than the requirement that all DC members will be bookable on BedandBreakfast.com to align with the new membership model.

HomeAway Connectivity:

BedandBreakfast.com members with instant booking are now on HomeAway, VRBO and VacationRentals.com. BedandBreakfast.com is the only travel site in the world to offer these exclusive distribution networks for B&Bs and inns. Over 13,000 B&B room nights are now represented to tens of millions of new travelers a month with the new HomeAway connection. In the first month alone, this new connection generated over 600 bookings, 1,100 room nights and $200,000 in revenue for B&Bs.
