Look to the future
As an innkeeper myself for 20 years, I learned the best thing to do when something isn't working is scrap it and start over. Resisting change and new ideas only gets in the way of success. The fact is, innkeeping isn't what it used to be. We are operating in a fluid and constantly changing environment where ideas and information can quickly become outdated. To be successful in the future, we have to anticipate new trends, dialog with industry experts, and make adjustments where necessary. I’ve also learned when we enjoy what we do and have fun doing it, success usually follows. Building this association has proved that.
Together we’ve already achieved many of our goals. This past year our fantastic volunteer board of directors realized AIHP was ready for a dedicated full-time leader to meet today’s organizational demands and take the organization further along. After a meticulous search, we chose Rob Fulton as our first CEO.
Our first conference, scheduled for April 4 – 6, is positioned to be a major success thanks to our dynamic and professional team of organizers who have put together a first-of-its-kind, Knowledge Sharing Summit and Marketplace. They’ve invited a diverse group of speakers to discuss topics and information you can actually use! Our allied partners will be there as well, representing a cross-section of the best resources and supplies for our trade--all available in one location!
And now, here we are premiering the inaugural edition of our e-magazine, the
first of many new initiatives this year. I have no doubt that 2016 is going to be another
breakthrough year for AIHP, thanks to our committed industry volunteers and our AIHP team of professionals. It will be something that you will all be very proud to be a part of.
I want to thank the leadership team that created this amazing organization, our dedicated board of directors, the members of our focused committees, and our talented, hardworking staff for everything they are doing for AIHP. And finally to our membership--truly the backbone and the future of this
association—your commitment and support has been and continues to be overwhelming.
Join with us as we look to the future!
WITH AIHP!
From AIHP Board Chairperson Dean Carlson
A note of thanks and a reason to celebrate as AIHP enters its new chapter
t isn't easy to start an organization from scratch, but sometimes you must take what you’ve learned from
the past and start fresh-- out with the old and in with the new! This is what AIHP represents--a new beginning and a modern approach to the future. In less than a year, an idea crafted by some of the best and brightest innkeepers and allied partners have gained momentum and grown into the progressive voice of our industry.
