MORSELS OF TRUTH
It was years later after dealing with depression and suicidal ideation, that I came to a place of being completely exhausted by the way I was living and yet knowing there was more to life and that God could help me find the more and how to obtain it. I cried out to God as I had often done before, but this time with such desperation, that I was willing to give up my way, and do whatever it took, so that I could finally be truly happy. I remember the Lord speaking to me in a soft gentle voice saying “ I have heard you my child, and I am going to do some things in and with your life that you could have never imagined. I am going to take you to a place you have never been before. I went to church the following Sunday and the pastor had us who were willing, to do a d 90 day challenge of seeking God like never before, praying like never before, and sharing the gospel with others like never before. I knew that was for me, that I was going to be like never before, praise God, and I have not been the same ever since and that has been almost 7 years ago. It is because of this life transformation that this organization has been birthed, a lot of my issues were the result of my child-hood, many due to the brokenness of our family members. I yet thank God for allowing me to go through those experiences, and being there to keep me and see me through them all. It is those experiences that were weaved into my life bringing me to this place of a powerful ministry that the Lord has prepared for His glory.
Rom. 8:28”and we know that all things work together for good, to those who love God, to those who are the called according to his purpose.”
Rom.8:29-30 “For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed into the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30)Moreover who he predestined, them he also called, whom he called, these he also justified, and whom he justified, these he also glorified.”
Hello my name is Sylvia Grimes-Myrie, I am founder of Morsels of Truth Inc. a non-profit organization based in Calumet Park, IL. The mission of our organization is to build and maintain strong families with teaching of biblical principles and how their application in daily life can be the foundation for building. Ever since I can remember, I have always enjoyed helping others. It was in my early adult years that I begin my 20+ years in a career of nursing, working in various settings; med/surgical unit in the hospital, geriatric long-term care facilities, out-patient clinics, home-health for children & adults, and others. I enjoyed my career of helping others and was passionate in doing so, wanting to offer the best care to those I served. It was my way to tap into happiness, because my personal life was not very happy, I was living a life of masked depression for years, and had become a master of disguises in order to hide the pain I was feeling inside. I had come to my own conclusion that there was no help for me, and no one would understand my pain, because my life appeared to be great to the outside world, and since I didn’t understand, no one else would either, so I continued to hide for many years behind a mask of happiness.
