The Villager Oct. 2013 | Seite 25

The Charbonneau Villager the Greens Concert in July. We are very excited to announce Tony will be performing in our own “supper club” at the CCC Clubhouse. The Tony Starlight Show is a love letter to the bygone days of live stage entertainment. Inspired by Frank Sinatra at Caesar’s Palace, Sammy Davis, Jr. at The Cocoanut Grove, Dean Martin at The Sands and Bobby Darin at the Copacabana, Tony believes in putting the show back into “Show Business.” Tony performs music and comedy, from the Rat Pack era through modern times (which means about 1975 in Tony’s world!). Whether it is song parodies like “My Hair Keeps a-Fallin’ From My Head,” impressions of Dean Martin, Tom Jones or Neil Diamond or interacting with the audience; Tony is a professional entertainer, not a singer working a “gig.” For this show, Tony will focus the first set on the “Stars of the Copacabana,” singing songs from Sinatra, Dino, Sammy, Bobby Darin, Tony Bennett, Mel Torme and even Jimmy Durante! The second set will be the great 60s and 70s soft rock artists like Neil Diamond, Tom Jones, Elton John, Bacharach and more. Tony sings and plays guitar and is backed by top-notch musicians Reece Marshburn on piano, Arick Gouwerok on bass and Sam Foulger on drums. Tony and his band love what they do; and it shows. Tony owns and operates Tony Starlight’s Supperclub and Lounge in Portland OR, at 37th and NE Sandy (www.tonystarlight.com). Stop by the CCC office to purchase your tickets, which are just $45. Tickets include a pre-performance dinner at 6 pm (concert begins at 7 pm), featuring your choice of entrée: herb roast pork loin or Tilapia with dill-lemon sauce. Dinner also includes salad, dessert and all the trimmings. This is a bring-your-own-beverage-of-choice event. However, coffee, ice water and punch will be offered with dinner. Hurry in! These tickets will sell out quickly. This is a FREE breakfast honoring the service and sacrifices of our military service members, past and present. In addition, we are planning a brief presentation at 9 am. The Wilsonville Rotary will be preparing the food, which includes: made-to-order omelets, pancakes and eggs. This hardworking group is known for their service to the community and look forward to honoring veterans for their service to our country. Please contact Kim in the CCC office at 503-694-2300 or Kim@ CharbonneauCountryClub.com to R.S.V.P. for this event. This Veteran’s Day, please remember to thank those who have served our country. The Red Cross Blood Drive was a Success Thank you, Charbonneau donors, for helping make the August blood drive at the Country Club a success. The Red Cross achieved their 29-unit goal, which is terrific for a first-time drive. Those 29 units will make a difference in the lives of up to 87 patients! Jean Reger, American Red Cross donor recruitment representative, wrote, “We truly appreciate (Charbonneau’s) support of our life saving mission. It means so much to so many families.” For those of you who were unable to give at this time, stay tuned to The Charbonneau Villager newspaper for announcements of future blood drives in 2014. New Year’s Eve Party This year’s New Year’s Eve committee has been planning a more casual affair to ring in the New Year. The committee has received a lot of feedback from the community and, with that in mind, came up with some great ideas for a fun evening. 1) The party will shift to East Coast time and will start at 6 pm and end at 10 pm. Party like you are in New York City! 2) Dress will be “holiday casual” attire. 3) Enjoy dancing to the tunes of our DJ, who will be spinning classic pop songs from the 60s - 90s. Tickets are on sale in the CCC office for just $25. More information will be in next month’s Villager newspaper. SEE’S CANDY LION’S FUND RAISER Wilsonville Lions will be hosting a See’s Candy fundraiser for the Christmas holidays. Orders will be taken until November 30th.
