Learning to Code at Arlington Senior Center
The Town of Arlington Senior Center is connecting the senior community to technology in
creative ways. Middle schoolers and high schoolers are learning code to create games and
apps. Now, members of the Town of Arlington Senior Center are using code to build
confidence using technology, while also boosting problem-solving and thinking skills.
Knowing how important continuing education is to keep the mind active and engaged, the
center is teaching members how to code using an easy-to-learn puzzle game on the iPad.
Members can bring their own, or borrow an iPad at the center to participate in this innovative
new program. Seniors are enjoying this new challenge and they ask, “who says you can’t
teach an old dog new tricks?”
