Hearing Loss

Arlington Senior
Citizens Center is located

The Tennessee Regulatory
Authority (TRA) will be at the
Arlington Senior Center on
February 12 at 11:00 am to
share valuable information on
how seniors can save money on
their phone bills using discount
phone plans for seniors. They
will also share information on
how to get amplification for
your phone if you have hearing
loss.
Arlington Senior Center
will be having a free Lunch and
Learn sponsored by Zounds
Hearing on February 26 at
11:00 am.. Along with lunch,
Joe Pickler will share
information on how hearing loss
can effect seniors. This will be
held on February 26th
at
11:00a.m. RSVPs are required
for the Lunch and Learn.

It’s in the Bin: Arlington Offers
Recycling Program for Residents

Arlington residents are eligible for
curbside recycling pick-up at no extra
charge through the town’s contract with
Republic Services.
Residents may
request up to two recycling bins free of
charge from Public Works (867-4980).
Additional containers may be used, but
should be clearly marked.
According to Arlington Public
Works, items for recycling do not have
to be sorted, but should be rinsed and
free of debris. Last year, Arlington
recycled almost 112 tons of waste.
Acceptable items include:
Aluminum—cans, foil, food trays
Plastic — labeled #1, #2, or #5
Unacceptable items include:
electronics, light bulbs, coat hangers,
Styrofoam, ceramics, mirrors, paint cans
Freon, batteries, used motor oil, and
tires. Some items may be disposed of
through the Shelby County Hazardous
Waste Disposal Center (901) 379-4438.

Congressman
