Class of 2014 International Baccalaureate Student Megan Chen hands fellow student Chris Waedle his Superlative at the IB Pinning Ceremony.
On January 10th, 2014,
the 15 students comprising
Bolton High School's second
International Baccalaureate
graduating class of 2014 were
recognized at a special
Pinning Ceremony at the
Bolton Stagelight Theatre.
The IB Pinning Ceremony is
more than just a time when IB
students can celebrate.
Getting that pin represents
everything it took to become
that IB student. It represents
all the hardships, challenges,
and experiences gained along
the way. To get that far while
staying calm, cool, and
collected, that pin is well
deserved.
The ceremony started
with a speech from Matt
Adler, IB Coordinator,
congratulating the students on
how far they've come. The
speech was followed by
Principal Chad Stevens
adding additional thanks for
all their hard work and how
far that hard work will take
them. Becky Baker, IB
Counselor, awarded pins to
15 well deserving students.
Then Class of 2014 students
Megan Chen and Brooke
Magowan handed their peers
their superlatives, which were
basically comical titles. They
ranged from Biggest Class
Flirt to Best Random Noises.
It was then followed by a
quick slideshow of many
pictures featuring the Class of
2014 IB students.
The IB program is known
for its academic difficulty and
i n st i l l s a s e ns e o f
determination, student
camaraderie, involvement,
achievement,
and
responsibility in its graduates.
After his four years, Chris
Bolton High School International Baccalaureate Class of 2014
Waelde said, “All my hard
work is starting to pay off.”
He remains undecided about
college plans but after this
school year believes IB will
help him get there. “I
definitely feel more prepared
for whatever college will
throw at me.”
Students who participate
in the IB course feel that they
are prepared to have a better
career and have learned
valuable life skills. Megan
