Gatlinburg Relief Drive
The Student Council
representatives at Arlington
Elementary School collected
supplies to help victims of the
recent Gatlinburg fires. All students
were asked to bring in any
donations they could to help the
victims. With only a three day
turnaround time, AES showed great
spirit with a huge outpouring of
donations. Student Council
Representatives
spent Thursday afternoon, sorting
and boxing all the donations that
will be shipped to the Red Cross to
aid those that were affected by the
disaster.
Donelson Elementary
Hour of Code
December 5-11 was Computer
Science Education Week. As an
introduction
to
computer
programming, Donelson students
participated in the Hour of Code
program offered by code.org. The
students loved learning to code and
were surprised at how easy it was to
begin. Throughout the hour, they
experienced some challenges and at
times worked together to problem
solve.
