This is what happens
when you have 100
Kindergarten
children.
They are destined to be
rising stars.
Kindergartner Sarah
Maxwell's
godparents
John and Nancy Antich
have sponsored a tree at
the LeBonheur Enchanted
Forest Festival of Trees
in honor of their
goddaughter who spent
time
at
LeBonheur
shortly after her birth and
Donelson Elementary students and
teachers enjoyed celebrating Red Ribbon
Week with special dress up days. Clockwise

All
of
the
kindergarten classes at
Donelson
decorated
wooden stars which
were then used to
garnish the tree.
“The Rising Stars of
Donelson
Elementary” will be
on display at the
Pink Palace from
November
23
through December
31.
Clean Up, Clean Up . . .

how
much
we
appreciate their support
for our school. Coach

Butler were helped by
DES students Emma

Mrs. Tooker named “Teacher of the Week” by AP&T
Special to THE VIEW 38002
Hats Off to Perfect Attendance!
“This week’s Teacher of the Week, exemplifies what it means to be a
great teacher,” said Karen
Shaffer, American Paper
& Twine Vice President.
“We had numerous entries on Mrs. Tooker’s
behalf, and we feel she
has continually gone
above and beyond the
standards of an excellent
teacher.”
“My

Rick Eiseman, American Paper & Twine,
presents Lori Tooker with a gift basket
learned so much from her
by the different strategies
she uses in her classroom,” Said Karen Barlett, Donelson Elementary parent. “For example, this year she has
created a ‘Tooker Store,
Bank, Court, and Money.’ The kids receive
money for things such as
good conduct, good
deeds, and any kind of
‘extra’ stuff they do to
help in the classroom.
Once a month the kids
get to go to the ‘Tooker
Store’ with the money
they have earned. If
someone turns in homework late, they go to
‘Tooker Court’ and must
present their case. The
kids are learning how to
count money, how to
keep their conduct ‘in
check’ as well as learning
the responsibility for their
actions.”
Each week during
the Titans’ season, submissions are reviewed to
find exceptional teachers.
The winning teachers
receive a $400 gift basket
full of supplies for their
classroom, and a new
winner is announced
every Tennessee Titans
game. At the end of the
season a ‘Teacher of the
Year’ is selected from the
Teacher of the Week
winners. This deserving
teacher will receive an
award, a gift basket of
school supplies (worth
approximately $800) and
tickets to the December
29th game vs. the Houston Texans.
