Our goal is to prepare students for the world beyond in a safe and supportive environment while encouraging students to achieve at their By Marilyn Goad, AMS Dance Sponsor The Arlington Middle School Dance Team attended UDA camp at Mississippi State University from June 12th-15th. On the first night of camp the girls performed their home pom routine. The squad received a superior rating, the highest rating given by UDA, and placed 3rd in the junior high division. The squad also received the super spirit stick award on the first night of camp which is given to only one of the 23 teams at camp and chosen by the UDA staff. On the final day of camp each squad member was evaluated on routines they learned throughout the week. The squad earned a superior trophy based on these routine evaluations. The squad received a bid to the National Dance Team Championship held in Orlando, Florida in January 2015 based on their performance in the home routine competition and evaluations. Sofia Gibson, Avery Goad, Kendall Graham, Ellie Hardy, and Abbi Lindsay (pictured above) were selected as All-Americans and invited to perform in the Houston Thanksgiving Day Parade. The AMS faculty and staff work with students, parents, and the community in a collaborative learning environment. Also, parents, please join our very active PTSA and volunteer whenever and wherever possible. We need your continued support and help in maintaining the positive experience for students and parents alike at Arlington Middle School.
