DEMOCRATIC BALLOT
COUNTY MAYOR
strengthen our economy and support our
public schools, while holding the line on
taxes and spending. As commissioner, I
will continue efforts to eliminate the
county debt and to reduce our property tax
rate, which is the highest in Tennessee and
double the state average. We need to
reverse the migration out of Shelby
County by making this a safer place to
live, with high-paying jobs and a well-
educated workforce made possible by
great schools. I would appreciate your
vote on May 1.

Candidate Statement: My candidacy for
Shelby County Mayor is to strive for
economic growth and fairness for all,
because as my campaign motto states
“Together We Can” it simply reiterates the
fact that, as a collaborative effort within
this county, we can and we will bring
about a change for all. I believe that most
of our societal ills derive from being a
county with a high poverty rate. My main
concern is to maintain long-term solutions
to the current high poverty, crime rate, and
our educational system that cultivates in
mass to the innovators of the future.
