The candidates are grouped by party and alphabetically, as that is the way that they will appear on the ballot. As a candidate for Shelby County Mayor, her primary focus is keeping citizens safe. She has seen firsthand the cost of crime to victims and families, and will commit every resource to stopping crime before it starts. In 2010, she became the first woman to be elected Juvenile Court Clerk, and was re-elected in 2014. Joy learned the value of hard work at an early age by washing dishes and waiting tables in her family’s restaurant. She worked her way through school, graduating from the University of Memphis. My ideas are real practical solutions to problems I experienced while working with the County. As a taxpayer I want to know that our tax dollars and our resources are being used wisely. That is how you get lower property tax rates. I am detail oriented; I know how the budgeting process works.
