Catholic Charities announces retirement of
Chief Development Officer Magi Young
Magi Young recently retired as
Chief Development Officer of Catholic
Charities of Santa Clara County. She
served Catholic Charities for 13 years,
directing fundraising and communications for 10 years, and for the past three
years, focused solely on fundraising.
Young led efforts to raise more
than $3 million from private sources
annually and raised over $29 million
dollars for the agency. During her tenure, gifts from individuals more than

Young spent many years volunteering. She is a member and past president of
the Junior League of San Jose, past President of the Franklin McKinley School
Board, and past member of Notre Dame High School Board of Directors.
As a volunteer, she raised funds at her children’s elementary and high schools
-- Notre Dame High School, Bellarmine College Prep, and AB Mitty High School.
Currently, she is a member of the Association of Fund Raising Professionals and
the Silicon Valley Planned Giving Council.
Prior to joining Catholic Charities, Young raised funds for Santa Clara University
where she served as Associate Campaign Director, Associate Director of Major
Gifts, and Director of Annual Giving. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy
from SCU. She and her husband have three grown children.
