The Lost Son

For most people, they know where they come from or what they are capable of doing, that was never the case for me. I always felt that I never truly belonged anywhere with all the strange things happening in my life.

The sound of loud ringing bells, made me and my friend Mike cheer, “Yes come on Jackson let’s get going. We should go to your house and hang out man!” Mike said happily, his purple eyes beaming with delight. I glanced at him, smiled and rapidly nodded my head with the same enthusiasm. We both started to walk out of school when chills ran up my back, my bones chilled, my hands quivered, as I turned around seeing Xander and his gang, their smiles full of mischief. Xander spoke rather viciously, “Well, well what do we have here, a bunch of idiots lying around.” He paused and looked at his friends,“Guys, what should we do with them? Oh that’s right let’s get them boys and rough them up a bit.” He said while smiling as if he were the devil.

I turned to Mike with my hands trembling.

“Run Jackson! Come on, let’s get out of here!” I ran faster than I ever had as I heard the thumps of feet chasing after us, rapidly getting closer and closer. I looked at Mike seeing his face hard in concentration while running as fast as possible. Salty sweat dripped down my face as I panted heavily. We ran as quickly as our feet could go, turned swiftly to the right into a dead end. I I noticed the piercing glare from Xander and his gang and I knew we were doomed.

“Jackson, I got your back don’t worry we’ll be fine I promise.” He spoke with that gentle smile of his and I nodded back at him.

“Well, well looks like the lamb was cornered by the wolves. What to do with you guy’s now, oh I know.” Xander teased. One of his friends came forward and looked us in the eyes and we both gasped. His eyes were blood red, his clothes started to rip. I heard his bones begin to crack like
