Hampshire Bursar who was encouraged to pursue his interest in art by Richard Bass and Grahame Drew , of whose travel scholarship fund he later became a trustee . Queens ’ College , Cambridge , History Pt 1 Anglo Saxon Norse & Celtic Pt 2 where he developed an interest in theatre and toured with a drama of shadow puppets which he had designed himself . British School in Rome . Freelance designer , who co-founded the visual effects company Framestore in 1986 : he was a pioneer in the use of computerised images for film and television and was the original draughtsman for the BBC ’ s Teletubbies . Other commissions for television included Foyle ’ s War , Inspector Morse and Endeavour ; he also directed many musical pieces . Awarded a Prix Italia for his direction of Una Stravaganza Dei Medici , a distinction not many foreigners aspire to . A gifted portrait and landscape painter , Hills exhibited at the Royal Academy , the National Portrait Gallery and the Royal Society of
Portrait Painters - his portrait of Tommy Cookson hangs in School . He was a devoted member of the London Sketch Club and of the Chelsea Arts Club , on whose committee he served until his death . A kind , sensitive man with the demeanour of an antiquarian bookseller , throughout his life he carried a sketchbook , pencil and sharpener in his bag . Married Lucy Makin , who survives him with their two daughters . Obituary in The Telegraph .
David Alexander Harrod ( H , 68-73 ); died 21.3.2020 . Junior rackets competition at Queen ’ s 1971 , Lords 1972-73 , XV and VI 1973 , Co Prae 1973 . Bedford College , London , BA History . After a short time accountancy training , he was a successful loss adjuster in the City : firstly , with Toplis & Harding 1978 , spending a year Oman ; then Redfern & Ticehurst 1985 , who were taken over by McLarens . He stayed there until 2011 and finally worked for Cunningham Lindsey , eventually retiring 3 years later . He was carrying out consulting work in the Caribbean , when the hurricanes hit . Director Gayhurst School Trust . He had a huge array of friends many of them OWs , was a great wit , a good raconteur and wonderful company . He was a keen sportsman : during one memorable golf round he encountered an elephant on the fairway ! Due to current circumstances , many of his OW friends remembered him at possibly the first Zoom party of its type in late March . A hot was not attempted . Sadly , in later years he suffered from ill health . He is survived by his son .

COVID – 19 Hardship Fund
Winchester is conscious – indeed proud of – the diverse backgrounds and financial circumstances of the parent population . A COVID – 19 Hardship Fund has been established to help support the school fees for those families who are experiencing financial difficulties as a result of the virus . The Governing Body has approved a reduced fee for Cloister Time and has confirmed that the fees from September 2020 will remain the same as September 2019 . We are extremely grateful to those who have agreed to support this fund to help others .
