Calling all Kennyites! Recent Win Coll Soc Events
We will be holding the150 Anniversary
Dinner for Kenny’s on Tuesday 6 th
February 2018. This will take place in
the Great Hall of the Merchant Taylors’
Company in London. Invitations have
now been dispatched and we are looking
for a record turnout! Parents’ Summer Party: on Friday 16 th
June, 350 current parents gathered in the
grand surroundings of the Great Hall of
Winchester Castle for a sell-out drinks
party. Entertainment was provided by
singing don David Hurley and Vox Soc.
The Headmaster and Alex Roe spoke:
the party would not have happened
without the unbounded enthusiasm,
efficiency and generosity of Aisling
Sykes, the Chair of the Parents’ Events
Committee, her deputies Sarah Le May
and Sophie Meek, and all her Committee
and house reps. These parents’ parties
have come a long way since they
started six years ago and in particular
since Aisling took over as Chair in 2014.
th
The Freddie’s Anniversary Dinner will
take place on Tuesday 2 nd October 2018.
Visiting Win Coll -
security arrangements
OWs and Don Soc members are most
welcome, but we ha ve been asked by the
Security Committee to remind those who
wish to visit the school (other than for
an event, when the instructions issued
may be different, or when visiting as a
spectator at matches) that they must
contact the Porters’ Lodge to check
whether the school is open for visitors.
This should be done at least 24 hours in
advance of the planned visit, or by Friday
midday for weekends: 01962 621227
or [email protected]. They should
arrive at the Porters’ Lodge and not enter
by any other gate and will be asked to
produce identification and sign the OW
or Don Soc Visitors books; they will be
issued with a visitor’s badge and lanyard,
to be worn conspicuously during their
visit, please, and returned as they leave
through the same gate. They will also
be given a map showing the areas of the
school that may be visited. Safeguarding
and Child Protection regulations become
ever tighter and OWs and ex-staff are no
longer allowed to come and go at will.
Next year’s Parents’ Summer Ball takes
place in London at Drapers’ Hall on
Thursday 28 th June 2018.
