No.127 OW Cornflowers. Richard Martin (Coll, 95-00) reports: On 6 th March, around 20 Cornflowers - members of the OW LGBT community - gathered in an oak-panelled room in south London for their second annual dinner. Although still relatively new, the Cornflowers Society is vibrant: events since its foundation a couple of years ago have included drinks parties, a private film screening and a gallery visit, as well as the annual dinner. Our next event will be on Thursday 6 th June in central London: our summer drinks party with our sibling LGBT societies, the Eton Dragonflies, The Trusty Servant the Harrow Byronics, and the Radley Wildebloods. In the spirit of friendly rivalry, we hope the Cornflowers contingent will be numerous! In order to sign up for the society and to receive further details of the summer drinks, please visit our website at www.owcornflowers.com/register/. The photograph shows last year’s gathering. Phil’s 150 th Celebration, Tuesday 19 th March 2019: 230 Philites, a record so far for this series of 150 th celebrations, gathered at Merchant Taylors’ Hall on Tuesday 19 th March 2019. They were addressed by the housemaster David Yeomans, to much applause from the younger element present. Harvey White (49-54), who had organised the Centenary Dinner in 1969 also at Merchant Taylors’, replied on behalf of the guests in a heartfelt manner. An epic evening.
