Well my life has been very interesting thus far. I am now almost finished with my junior year and I am less then four months to my senior year. I have experienced so much in these last few years and I cannot wait to find out what is in store for me. I already have a schedule made out for next year and if all goes well, I will be ready for college. Before college though, lets talk about my senior year.
I decided to not let off on my senior year. Most do however I will not be one of them. I have all of my classes thought out and are in the perfect order to give me the best education without stressing myself out too much. I will be taking Government, Functions, Physics and Comprehension as my mandatory classes. I will have Chorus, Band and Public Speaking as my electives. With a really full schedule and my new job at subway, I would like to have a study hall every day. In order to do this, I will take Early Bird Physical Education in the mornings. This will give the schedule I need and will make everything comfortable.
Of course, that is not all I will be doing my senior year. I also plan to be involved in the Student Council, Jazz Band, Jazz Choir and obviously Speech. Probably the thing I can’t wait for is the play. Acting is my life and I don’t know were I would be if I didn’t possess the skills I have today. I am probably the best in my class next to Sam Poppen and Jessie Thompson. We all are good and will lead the way in group speech and individual speech. Speaking of speech that is another thing I can’t wait for. I went to All-State this year for my After Dinner speech. This was a huge deal for both my classmates and me. The school is also another thing that benefited from my performance. As you can tell, this kind of thing is very important to me. I really hope I can make it in college and after college in the real world.
When I do get out of high school, I do plan on going to college. I still don’t know where but I do have a few places in mind. I am interested in: The University of Iowa, Luther College, UNI, Drake and my latest interest is University of Nebraska-Lincoln. All of these colleges offer what I am looking for and if I had to pick, I don’t know if I would be able to. A guess the first step is to visit the college and get a feel for it. When I do go to the college that I hopefully choose, I will double major in theatre. My dream is to be involved in acting throughout my life and I do believe I can make this dream come true. My double majors may consist of many different things involving acting. I plan on taking a major in theatre. My other major will probably involve something around that like Director/Producer or tech crew. I feel with that education in my background, I will get more job opportunities then without it.
Now don’t get me wrong, I know the actor life is very hard. Not many people make it out in Hollywood. Most end up waiting tables and other side jobs hoping their big break will be around the corner. I don’t want a life of misery or disappointment. That is why I am preparing myself ahead of time. After college, I guess I will see if I can find any job that is available at that point. With my background and “hopefully” my success in college, my name will get across America and I will become well-known about my ability to act and if that all fails, I will have my other major to fall back on to keep me going. That is if everything goes perfectly, but we all know that nothing ever goes as planned.
